Marks

France, Spain, Canada and Czechia for FB/C
Georgia, Finland, USA, Italy and China for C/B
Spanish judge had G/P over C/B.
Italian judge put G/F third over G/P
Canadian judge had G/F 9th
What I find most glaring is the similar mistakes and levels on the Italian and French twizzles, but the extreme difference in GOE between those two teams .All the judges punished the Italians and only the Finnish judge punished FB/C.. The rest of the scores are not what I would have given especially in choreo and performance and lifts for FB/ C which are really quite weak but they can be defended. But, that twizzle GOE is not defensible..

I can't speak to the French team's technique but their performance left me cold. That's not my US bias, either. Honest! IMO, both C/B and Charlene/Marco brought much more artistry and emotion to their programs.

I missed P/P and will have to catch them on replay.

I think the big difference is the charisma ... C/B are good but are missing something in the ice je ne sais quoi ... and G. has it .. that's why he won ... that's why I like pairs a throw is a throw
I think the difference is, that for some reason the contemporary dance style is considered the ultimate form of artistry. You can have the best tango, paso doble, waltz, whatever, but as soon as someone does contemporary... Woow that's true art. 😆

I think this is what bothers me about this couple. She didn't bring anything new, they just replaced Gabby with her and did the same thing again. And it feels like a cheap win, even though they are great. She also doesn't really show much personality in her skating, as if she's intimidated.
Well it is their first season together. Frankly I am amazed they work together even this well.

However, cynic in me questions, if all these Cizeron fans really thought Laurence as the best female ice dancer in the world when she was paired with Sorensen? Did they look at her and thought "Oh, if only we had her skating with Guillaume instead..."

Yeah, I don't think so.

And don't take it so that she is bad, but I just find that quite amusing.

I dont know.. it looked to me that Marco Fabbri was struggling throughout the entire set of twizzles. Cizeron made a mistake.. but I think the twizzle in question may have been finished. So the mistake was perhaps outside of the element. A fraction of a second difference and it would have been more costly.

I’m so proud of Madi & Evan for skating an excellent performance under pressure. I think that is the program I will remember years later - more than the whale. So happy for Piper & Paul for winning the bronze. So devastated for Lilah & Lewis. Congratulations to Guillaume & Laurence on your win.
No loosers here. C/B have two golds and a silver and more important, EACH OTHER. (unknown if they BOTH get $200,000 or one check as a team. ) Happy Valintines day! Oh, and they have their plastic Shoats. :giggle:

I missed what Scott had to say after the Free Dance. Was he on? I can't seem to find it on Peacock. Here in NYC we went to local news right after the result was announced.

Maddie and Evan win the majority of judges. The French can thank their judge who doubled down with his BS from the RD. Scored C/B Eight Points less than his team. Criminal.
Well, the only way for change to occur would be something similar to what happened in SLC 2002 in the pairs event. France was involved in that scandal as well.
