We are in a weird situation because by the rules, the winner is guaranteed a spot and the other spots are given after senior nats. But the winner is a novice so she can't go. That means no one is guaranteed a spot. Everything will be decided after seniors nats. So Rion, Mone, Hana and even Azusa and Ayumi all have a chance for the two spots since senior nats has the last word.JSF is able to send two ladies to junior worlds. I would love for it to be Mone and Rion
You are talking about the future i guess.Mao....taking the Jr. National's title for 2 consecutive years!!
Mao won Novice last year. But, finished in third place in Jr. Nationals behind Rino and Hana. So, this is actually her first Junior title. She sure is a firecracker. But, for me, Rion was the most artistic and engaging performer. She solidified her selection to the Grand Prix Jr. Finals.Mao....taking the Jr. National's title for 2 consecutive years!!
Sorry! I mixed it up with her seed skater status...or I should change that to 2 consecutive years' winner of NvA girls'!You are talking about the future i guess.
Because last year she was 3rd.

Interesting? I thought Rion would be given the spot by default. I bet they never expected a Novice to be this good when coming up with these rules. I think I will be rooting for Rion, Mone and Azusa for these two spots. Hana is the most talented with the 3A, but, I’m not as engaged in her programs this year. This was an awesome competition. Looking forward to Senior Nationals. We are in a weird situation because by the rules, the winner is guaranteed a spot and the other spots are given after senior nats. But the winner is a novice so she can't go. That means no one is guaranteed a spot. Everything will be decided after seniors nats. So Rion, Mone, Hana and even Azusa and Ayumi all have a chance for the two spots since senior nats has the last word.
Also, we shouldn’t overlook Ami, as she will make it to Senior Nationals grabbing the sixth spot and maybe by then, she will land the 3A.We are in a weird situation because by the rules, the winner is guaranteed a spot and the other spots are given after senior nats. But the winner is a novice so she can't go. That means no one is guaranteed a spot. Everything will be decided after seniors nats. So Rion, Mone, Hana and even Azusa and Ayumi all have a chance for the two spots since senior nats has the last word.
I also noticed this with the SP from yesterday...no one got L4 Stsq. That was a rather strict panel. So no one got a stsq4?
It doesn't exist in this panel vocabulary apparrently.
Maybe. Her FS with one 3A at Konoshita cup was amazing. She scored more than 130. And at regionals (or was it sectional?) she went almost clean with two 3As.perhaps 2 3As are too demanding? Hana definitely has the ability to jump clean 3A.
According to a Japanese news article I read, this was last done by Shizuka Arakawa in 1994.OMG Mao won!
When is the last time that a novice won junior nats in singles? Has it ever happened?
