I do not like comparing scores from different events... but
This seems to corroborate my suggestion
15 women scored over 180 at worlds... which is just the same at Russian Nationals
8 scored over 190 which is over the top 10 Russian finisher
Sakamoto scored 236, which would have placed her near the podium.
ETC
and as well all know, National events are often scored higher than Worlds.
Of course, the top 5-6 Russian skaters are ahead from other Russians and most of the rest of the world (except for Kaori) but it's not like the top 20 Russian skaters are miles ahead from the rest of the world. That's just false information. As a matter of fact, the 18th skater at Russian Nationals would not have made the free skate at worlds...
And I would be curious to see, this year, with so many skaters injured or not quite yet in top shape to attempt their big tricks, how it will be.
So yeah... Sasha will not be satisfied fully until she wins an international championship.
YMMV and I am okay if you find this entertaining
