Dance - Original Dance - Tango

Yes in ice dancing standards I would say beating a chief competitor by 1.5-2 points in a CD or OD is "crushing" them.

Ah, we have very different definitions. I think it will be most interesting to see where the judges put the Russians in this portion of the contest. If they wanted to push them up for the gold this year, I think this is their best opportunity to do it.

25 Tanith BELBIN / Benjamin AGOSTO USA
Her in red lace him in black pin stripe suit
Midline twizzles matched 1st ones fast 2nd not so / music now soft & flowing and some dancing in hold / strt lift with him in spread eagle her going from high to low pos / spin her in catchfoot him in sit then upright and she changes to foot to head / diag steps flow quickly for the 1st part / rot lift white her in catchfoot in front of him / boring dance in my opinion - no passion

Is the OD weighted more heavily than the CD? How can the Bulgarians move ahead of the Canadians overall when they only beat them by 0.02 in the OD and the Canadians had a 1.5 point lead after the CD???

Lol what a clever question:rock:

Meaning the Russians, Canadians, and Bulgarians get into a little group close together after this program and the French and the Americans find themselves with some seperation behind the 3.

So much for that theory. B/A into third and a virtual tie with both the Canadians and the Bulgarians.

I'm not a fan of B/A but they deserved the highest tech score today. As for Rosaleen, she is also entitled to have her favourites, and to be a fan of a couple. But i think it is great that she sees the mistakes of D/L very often:rock:

Hi Rosaleen. Have you heard what the deductions were for?

Thanks as always for your awesome reports!

Yeah I am surprised the Americans did so well and the Russians did not do better.

I still expect in the free dance the Americans to drop and the Russians to move onto the podium though. We will see.

28 Tessa VIRTUE / Scott MOIR CAN

I'm also a tad surprised as well, particularly by the placement of the Russians. The FD is going to be absolutely killer with the top three teams so. incredibly. close.

Fantastic for V/M beating even the second Russians in the OD. I love their FD most of the entire field this year so I'm hoping they can skate it lights-out and maybe move up one more place.

I heard the announcement the World Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony would be taking place after the OD's. What are the chances CBC CC will show that?

Fingers crossed!!
