Not sure if this is where to post this - it's the first one I've started but wanted to give a heads up.

Sorry for such late notice but I just found this out.

Word is that he'll be skating on the Rockefeller Center rink tomorrow. Check your local listings.

Also - Tanith and Ben will be on the 18th.

thanks for the info :)

not sure I'm going to be awake for it lol with my luck he'll be on first thing :p

I was home until about 8:50 am this morning and he was not on. I wonder if his appearance was cancelled because of the rain. But maybe he was on later.

I taped the whole show for that reason - not sure WHEN he'd be on.

He was on at 8:45 - good thing as it was raining really hard at the beginning of the show. The ice looked really poor after a week of warmer weather and then all that rain. Matt Lauer did the interview before the skate.

In a nutshell - great performance reminiscent of his INXS number - to a mix of Chris Brown/Michael Jackson. I heard some parts of Wall to Wall which I believe was one of his numbers on FOI. Great dance moves! No jumps for which I was thankful due to ice condition.

Of course he mentioned FOI as upcoming on NBC - wore one of the costumes from that show - and was asked about defending his title - was it different with a "target on his back?" and a couple about his preparation - to which he replied it has been a mix of hard work and fun and at this point is mostly mental as he's ready physically..

Great interview, great skate! Nice way to launch Nationals.

FYI: Tanith and Ben are scheduled to appear on the Today Show on Jan. 18th.

:rock: Go Evan. That was funky! Now, put some skating with your retro hip hop moves and you'll have something, LOL.

I learned one thing, though. It's easy to moonwalk on skates!

Thanks for the link. Nice split jump. I wish more guys would do those. I guess the crappy ice explains the lack of rotational jumps.

he was on a again this morning (saturday) and skated to "time to say good bye" he landed a beautiful 3 toe...the program was pretty much his "the feeling begins" program set to diffrent music. The interviewer got all the facts wrong ( as usual).

Does he make specious references to his top Nats competitor?

Joe

he didn't on saturday. actually they didn't discuss nats at all. The interviewer remarked that he was also a skateboarder, which he denied, and she hoped that he got over the flu, ehich ailed him at his last competition.... he corrected her that actaully he had the flu in torino 2006. He said somthing about he was skating in the fashion on ice show... and that is about it.

Thanks for the recap. Hope NBC posts a vid.

that's just poor journalism.... not something I am used to seeing from NBC Today

ok so I haven't watched since Katie left, but still!

Hi - caught Evan skating this morning to a beautiful piece of music and would love to know if anyone out here knows what the music was? Was classical/opera sounding - a very moving piece. Tried looking for the "Time to Say Good Bye" as mentioned above but cannot find anything that sounds the same. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

The music IS "Time To Say Goodbye." or "Con Te Par Tiro" in Italian. Not sure of the Italian spelling).

Evan has performed to this piece as early as 2002 - only the vocal was an Andrea Bocelli/Sarah Brightman duet. Check YouTube for 2006 US Nationals EX and/or 2006 Worlds EX where he used it very effectively.

You might try to google Sarah Brightman for her version, which is the one he skated to for the Progressive Fashion on Ice special or Andrea Bocelli for his.

Hope this helps.
