Honestly, I don't see a point in doing one GP event, better to focus on Nationals. Just imo of course.

Oh, yes. If he does super-fine, they'll say that his scores were inflated because of his resume and because "judges unexplicably love Plushenko" (Yes, I've seen that line in an argument, not in jest!), and if there's nothing about his technique to complain about there's always music interpretation that everyone is entitled to have his/her opinion about.

However, that said, as you've mentioned,

So if he needs to do one competition in the fall anyway, why not make such a show schedule as to allow for COR? Granted, those who want to find something to criticize will do so no matter what he does, but to all the unprejudiced people it'll look much more impressive if he does a GP event (going against the reigning WC!) than if he does a B competition like Volvo Cup going against Petrov (as in 2013). It'll be better if he loses a few points to Fernandez in his first comeback competition than if he wins over Petrov by a landslide.

Programs for 2015/2016 season's two-time Olympic figure skating champion Yevgeny Plushenko set - Nikita Mikhailov, director of the popular ice shows ("Snow King" Evgeni Plushenko, "The Nutcracker" by Pyotr Chernyshov, "Juno and Avos" Ice Theatre Elena Berezhnaya). Nikita Mikhailov told the special correspondent of the portal TEAM RUSSIA-2014 Catherine Petaykinoy about his collaboration with skaters in the current season.

"Throughout last season I did, basically, setting ice shows - said Nikita Mikhailov. - However, in recent months I have put some sports programs skaters - Jean Bush, Alexander Samarin, Seraphim Sahanovich, sportsmen group Butsaeva Victoria (Volchkova) and two-time Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko. I think athletes and coaches offered me cooperation, because we have seen and appreciated my work as the director of ice shows. I'm in two minds about CoR. I would love to see Plushy stride onto the ice with his regal bearing, the King showing all the pretenders to his throne how it's really done.

But the Lost Prince did not receive any other invitations...and if he does not get CoR, I would fear that he would be lost forever.

Ohhh, karne! I do feel for you! But as gallavich pointed out, Plushy has all those shows, so we don't know how much training he will be able to squeeze in... Take heart and comfort! Artur may get the spot yet.

(Though you painted such a vivid scene of Plushy that I long to see it happen... but for your sake... and again, the training question... well, I'll just have to fall back on my fatalist propensities. Que sera sera.)

Few days before, japanese tabloid "Friday" published one story about Plushy in an Tokyo bar (where show organizer brought few skaters between shows)... during Plushy's exit, tablod took this one picture, and interviewed girls ("hostesse" ) which worked in the bar and served the guests . Grils were so excited when they served Plushy, so they couldn't even ask him to hug. (They were excited and too nervous to ask him something). Plu talked to girls thru his interpreter and treated girls politely and calmly. He did nothing "dirty" to girls... ( of course) He stayed at the bar only 30 min (usually men stay such a place for 1-2 hours. So it's very short).
