I read Plush's interview on the Olympic Channel and I was impressed by the ambition and strength with which he wants to build the skating academy. It is very difficult but I am convinced that it will succeed. At the moment, I admit that Tutberidze has the most talented girls, she still has the power to choose the best. Sasha and Alena did not leave her in vain. Something happened there ... But I don't think Tutberidze regrets it much. Evgheni may or may not succeed in something with Sasha and Aliona. Sasha is a genius but she lacks confidence in herself, and Aliona seems to have lost her ambition, her goal ... as if the competitors' achievements are blocking her, I don't know what to say. Evgheni has a fantastic confidence, desire and power and I hope to transmit the same feelings to the girls ... Good luck Plushy!

Hello fellow Plushy fans!

Well the Nationals has concluded and in the end Sasha claimed bronze, Stanislava 16th and Artem K 8th.

So what do we all think? How is the Russian Figure Skating Fed going to react to Plushy's comments re: judging. Do you think he should put up and shut up? Keep going?

I mentioned in my previous post that Plushy had a lot of support for calling out the judges, but then I made the mistake of going into the Russian Ladies Thread. Now obviously, I'm not saying everyone has to worship Plushy, but people get so personal and mean over there! Someone actually wrote Plushy had no loyalty or values. WTF? I kinda lost my mind over that. Awkwaaard.

Also I have a concern... apparently Plushy decided to withdraw Aliona from the competition on doctor's advice, rather than Aliona doing so herself. In light of Anna S's win do you think Aliona will be angry? After all if Anna could compete - and win! why couldn't she? (I worry that Anna's situation will have a domino effect! What ladies skater will ever want to withdraw now unless their leg is literally falling off? :( )

On the plus side, Plushy was back to his normal clapping along self while watching Sasha. Heh he should express himself while watching his skaters more, I think it might cut back on the KnC outbursts. He seemed annoyed in the KnC with Sasha's score even though it put her in first, I wonder did he see the big scores for Anna S and Kamila coming? Or did he just think Sasha should have got higher? Word is on Twitter that the judges were super stingy on GOE, but would Plushy even know that in the moment?

Lastly, I feel super petty but when people were going nuts over Anna S's possible (and now occurred) 3-peat without qualifing as it being in ladies, I was thinking "Y'know Plushy won Nats ten times" Although admittedly not in a row and not against such competition. But hey, it ain't Plushy's fault he was that awesome ;)

Next on the calendar is the Swan Lake show, which means Plushy skating! :cheer:

Couch potatoes have more value than Plushy, yeah, that's for sure! :LOL:

Trusova's wonderful performances here have secured her one place on the Worlds team, which is a big success for her as well as for her whole team! (y) Their persistent hard work finally paid off. It is not an easy job for Plushy considering Trusova's lingering injury. Even though she could not win the National title, it will be an absolutely different story when it comes to the possible Worlds with international judges around. I have enough confidence in her abilities. :) Now recovering fully from the injury and staying healthy against the spreading viruses are the most important things for her.

In the case of Kostornaya, I think she still has a good chance to fight for the last slot later on. They just don't need to rush. She is a very talented skater, and I believe that her beautiful skating will surely once again light up the world stage! :love2:

About the Russian judging, Plushy is not complaining but protesting to the Federation against the invisible manual manipulation. He is a highly professional man, and he knows very well what he is challenging and how the corrupted Russian Judging system is working against his skater. We, as impartial bystanders, should fully trust him.

I don’t think Aliona will be angry with Plushy and if she is, she’ll come to terms with the fact that he was acting on the best medical advice available and in my view, he made the right decision that was in her best interests. Take heart, Plushy is in this for the long haul. I wish him all the best.

As for the Russian ladies thread, you do wonder sometimes how quickly things get derailed there. I’d ignore a lot of what goes on.

I think Plushy can help Aliona regain her form and come back stronger. She had three periods off the ice: the extended break due to COVID-19 earlier in the year, changing of coaches, and then getting Covid herself. That’s not easy to deal with, and nor is the hate mail on social media. Some people behaviour like feral animals towards Plushy and her. That takes its toll. And on top of that, Aliona has gone through puberty and her body shape is now more that of a woman’s shape. The good thing is that she has gone through this now. So let’s keep the faith in her and in Plushy, and see what the next year brings. Take care.

I guess the order of judges stays the same between SP and FS? Judge no. 6 also made the most questionable GOE calls in the SP if you go back to the protocols...
 
There are so many things I cannot figure out right now. No matter how they are turning all things into a farce, Trusova has won herself a Worlds spot, fair and square! However, I will never understand how the Federation could allow a skater to skate with fever at the Nationals! They should have put other skaters' health above everything! Just think about that: Plushy was once hospitalized in the ICU this spring!!! 😨

There are other suspicions I cannot talk about here, just so horrible!

Well, it's been a busy day on the forums! The wash-up from the Nats has kept the Russian Ladies Thread abuzz.

I keep swinging back and forth on what to think of competitive sports. Like recreational wise sports are great for the mind and body, but once it gets competitive it seems to do the complete opposite 🤔 Plushy himself is a poster boy for this! He's less than 2 years older than me and has had countless surgeries and competed through all sorts of pain. I'm having a bit of a crisis on whether this is something I should even support? Am I just projecting my own view onto things, I'm a huge wuss so to me no pain = no gain is something I'm happy to live with :laugh:

I guess I just don't like the thought that Plushy or any other skater for that matter would only measure their worth in gold medals :(

I Google Translated some of the comments, a lot of them were nasty, telling Plushy he hasn't done anything for Sasha at all and Eteri is responsible for all her technique. Funnily enough these people didn't blame Eteri for the disaster at Rostelecom. Typical, yeah? If Sasha does well it's all because of Eteri, if she does poorly apparently it's Plushy's fault.

I for one have noticed that Sasha's jumps are a lot better looking, she used to bend a lot when landing, now she doesn't. It looks nicer.

I gotta be honest, I'm somewhat disappointed that he's thanking Tatiana Tarasova. Apparently she deigned to make a positive comment about Team Angels, like big deal? The amount of bile she's spewed over the years really should make her a person non grata, but nope. Some people can get away with anything! 🙄

So! I've decided on a new method of interaction with the Russian Ladies Thread! I shall keep a rubber band on me when I go in there and whenever I have an urge to reply I'll flick it to remind me not to! I have a high hopes it'll work. :biggrin:

I will say one thing, it's unfair of me, but I'm annoyed that while skaters with various illnesses are praised for showing up at Nats, Plushy is the poster child for irresponsibility for not wearing his mask correctly. Like other coaches have got flak, but Plushy is of course the worst 🙄 like everyone would suddenly wear their masks properly if he did. Although the fact now he's doing so, while others still aren't clearly shows that's BS. Detractors seem to be confused as to whether Plushy is a person non-grata and irrelevant or a Mafia type influence with the Russian Figure Skating world in his thrall.
