I just watched that Adagio test skate. :thumbsup: Doesn't even look like a test skate, does it? Amazing! On a similar note, I was just watching his first public performance of Tribute to Nijinsky yesterday, from the Artur Dmitriev show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_M569vny-M It has kind of a mystical feel with the green light...and it's strange how these videos from the early 2000s seem ancient already. :laugh: I guess it's just because the video quality is not so great.

If he's going to repeat something, I hope it's at least something that's before 2010 and not Tosca. I mean, when was the last time he made a program specifically for an exhibition, outside of Opera on Ice? Je Suis Malade? The Prophet? :scratch: (This is the downside to him not actually competing in JO. If he needed to prepare a competitive program, I suspect he would've made a new one. :p).

I'm really curious to see what he is going to skate at JO - but I suspect it will be an old program. I'd imagine he'd be too tied up with The Snow King to have time to work on any other new choreo. Except... it suddenly struck me... didn't they say he was working on new programs for the season even though he did not aim to compete? Or did I just dream that?:scratch:

I really can't complain if he brings back an old program, considering how tied up he is with Snow King. I mean, I'm grateful he's still skating at 31! Many other skaters would've left the ice entirely by that age, let alone still competing (with a new LP every season) and being active in shows.

I'm just hoping he'd bring back something that's not Tosca/Storm/Best of/either Tango program, because he skated them fairly recently. The test skate video of Adagio makes me wonder... can't he bring something like that back? It's equally beautiful even with 4T/3A (in fact, I wouldn't mind seeing that program with no jumps entirely).

You didn't dream that part. Plushy posted a pic on Instagram about thinking up new programs while he was on holiday in the Maldives (I dunno if that was before or after Instagram broke for you). And Mishin talked about "New Plushenko," Yana about Ultra-C (which remains a mystery)... I hope, if we're indeed correct that no new programs will debut at JO, he'll hold on to those programs for future shows/competitions. Seems like a shame to just discard them...
 
Oh, yeah! The famous Ultra-C! How could I forget?! :) (My mind's a sieve at the best of times, honestly, but forgetting the Ultra-C?! Makes me want to crawl into bed and stay there - but instead I'll go and drown my sorrows in a cup of tea. :) )
 
I also think this won't be new program...but what will be???? He skated his every program in Japan!!! Not once!!! He is a very frequent guest there!!!!... I'm optimist..He learns movements and choreography incredible quickly...hm...dreams..sweet dreams...

Considering how paltry the teasers have been so far... not likely. Maybe we'll get Ultra-C after all.

:eek: First thing I noticed was the hair...why?! I think it wouldn't be so bad if he kept a bit of fringe in the front, but this...this is not our Zhenya! :confused2:
 
I didn't notice the haircut at first, but now that I have I am indeed disturbed by this change!

He's not Plushy without the mullet! :eek: Hope it grows back quickly.
