Alexander Abt is also called Sasha a lot. We have a lot of nicknames in English that hardly resemble the actual name (like Hank for Henry, Jack for John-this one seems esp. strange since they're both one syllable  etc.), so I never really questioned it. What I do find strange in Russian is how people often refer to the full first and middle name, eg. Tatiana Anatolyevna, Alexei Nikolayevich, etc. It seems like a mouthful...

The Russians use it when they are talking about someone respectfully...

I agree and was going to say something about "Jack"

I love this!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cehUBZVLd2I
"This Man shines like no other! it has that special magic that make him be among the Immortal and Loved ones.
Artists come and go through the years they have their 5 mins of fame and most tend to fade, but once in a while we got lucky and someone comes that make our lives so much better with their amazing talent and beauty wich I personally think is a gift from the Gods to us mere mortals, Plushenko is so special and memorable, touch by the hand of God indeed, A Wonderful Legend that is meant to remain with us forever!"

He will be competing at Japan Open? (Just to confirm what "guest" means... they're not going to just have him for the gala, right?). Patrick will be there too, so

Those "awkward moments" are always great. I love this photo. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Kovtun: I... have seen the angels...
Plushy: It's just the ceiling, dude.

(Yeah, I know it's not as indicative as it looks, but this is too hilarious not to caption!)

Very, umm, interesting choice of music for a montage. :) But I like the use of so many show skates, both old and new. all 'em triple axels. Could anyone tell me what's going on at 0:26, and if there's a longer video of this?

That's the opening number "Tango de Roxanne" from the Just 30! show. I wouldn't mind seeing him dance without skates on more often.

I don't think he's competing at the Japan Open. You never know with this guy, though...

I'm sure he won't compete at JO. He will skate twice, the Japanese fans will go crazy for him he will meet with some Japanese friends and that's all. He can fly quietly in Bucharest where he is incredible popular.

I also would like to see him dance without skates. He has a very good ballet basics. Interesting, when he arrived in ST. Petersburg he auditioned for the Kirov Ballet he was good, but he chose the skating.

She is a new fan of Plushy. This was her twentieth montage about Plushy since Sochi... I love this too:

Is always a pleasure watching him! ;)"

in english:
Yesterday was shooting with my Olympic medals, which is not only a highest award in sports, but also this is what I set a goal and went all my conscious life to. It would be desirable to more boys and girls to set goals and objectives, and go to them! Sport is a discipline, sport can change a person, sport is a life! Sport is my life!

I like Yudashkin's costumes, but it's time for him to come up with some new ideas...:) If Plushy's new programs are more balletic, I hope to see some costumes that are similar to what male dancers wear. Not the tights (I mean, I wouldn't mind but it probably wouldn't go over well with judges ;) ), but the jackets. And of course, in some different colors.

I love the videos Plushy has been posting with Sasha. You can see which one has the bigger smile on his face...

I totally agree. I would like to see something totally new on Plushy. But my chinese friend who was on all shows in China except in Taiwan wrote: " I'm crying! He is so sexual, he has a nice body!"-after she saw him in this costume..

Anne's -another great fan- report from Taiwan:

"Sorry for my poor English and expression.I'm too excited.

We have waited for his return anxiously for the past 700 days. Finally did he come back here on the ice after going through so many things.

What a years for Plushy and there are too many things happened, he winning the gold, withdrawing the Olympic, undergoing the surgery and even breaking his blade before the show in Taipei.

I was frightened to death when I saw him walking out the rink with Johnny’

I can’t remember other skaters’ programs. They just passed like running water.
As the time getting closer and closer, I started to shudder.
My heart was on fire but my hand is frozen, not to mention my body almost falling off the chair.

Finally, Edvin played the violin, the melody in my dream millions of times, Tosaca. Plushy stretched his arms, and skated.

It's like a dream come true.

Everything has been completed and satisfied.

It was not bad to hold the banner since it really caught Plushy’s eyes.
Plusheko threw lots of kisses and showed off his best gestures as feedback for our welcoming.

Plusheko did really take care of us.

I screamed just like the end of the world when he performed the Tosca.
What’s more, I couldn’t make any sound as if someone squeezed my neck on the Best of Plusheko.

I even forgot to breathe because of all the memories from each piece of music and movement, this music coming from “the God Father”, that movement from “Tribute to Nijinsky”, and thenTangoarmo, and St.Petersburg300….

20 years of Plusheko was in the 4 minutes’ performance, the best of Plusheko.

I am willing to sacrifice everything to have you in my life." ;)

Lilyshenka: https://twitter.com/Lily_shenka/status/499311460212670465/photo/1 so nice!

I'm still trying to load the whole video :bang:, but it's Lana Del Rey's "Young And Beautiful," from The Great Gatsby soundtrack. I think some people are skating to that this year...Ashley Wagner used it in an EX.

I wish I was half as good at Photoshop as Lilyshenka is.

Thank you, I've seen the movie, but I didn't remember the song..Now I watched Ashley's skating to this song in Orlando..I like it.

Lilyshenka is a very talented person in many aspects and a really kind girl.

You can download the video here https://cloud.mail.ru/public/f48d29...montage 16.07.2014 from tudou-8nGD7d8RleU.flv

Can't upload on Youtube, because there is video from OG Sochi....

Blah, I seem to have caught Gallavich's bug of Tudou not working. I only managed to load half the montage. If it still doesn't work tomorrow, I guess I'll have to download. The half that I saw was very nice. I love the juxtaposition in the beginning. So few people have been World medallist at 15, and so few have been competitive at 31. It's inconceivable that one person managed both.

Can Plushy and Dai do a cat number at Japan Open? With Dai as a cat salesman trying to sell Plushy a pet. Maybe Plushy can bring back the Assisai outfit and play two different characters.

 Thank you. This is great. (I think it's Tango Amore though. ;)) I wouldn't mind seeing him dance without skates either.

Romanian TV channel B1 used to broadcast Kings On Ice in the past (I remember I saw the 2007 and 2010 editions) but not much is known about the broadcast of this year's edition.

According to this article, the line-up for the show in April should have been Stephane Lambiel, Brian Joubert, Tomas Verner, Irina Slutskaya, Tatiana Volosozhar & Maxim Trankov, Ksenia Stolbova & Fedor Klimov, Elena Ilinykh & Nikita Katsalapov and Fiona Zaldua & Dmitry Sukhanov.

The line-up (so far) for October is: Stephane Lambiel, Brian Joubert, Irina Slutskaya, Tomas Verner, Fiona Zaldua & Dmitry Sukhanov, Sergey Yakimenko.

It works now. Very lovely montage. I like how they transposed the two Nijinsky poses together.

Thank you for the information. I guess it'll be hard to get V/T ect. to attend in October. Looks like the Four Kings number (if they bring it back) will be unchanged though.
