Evgeni Plushenko

I usually don't like Yana's dressing . But this dress is amazing!!!! I want to wear this !!!

http://instagram.com/p/se-cgHFSKh/

That is a nice dress. Speaking of Yana - Kovtun tweeted her this picture and she replied "Fan -Art? Maybe when you will win at least 10 of the medals that he has, and will draw you back to work!" It's not the first time I've seen them exchange tweets like that. The first time I saw her tell him to work harder, I felt a little bad for him, but he keeps coming back for more, so... :slink:

As for Yagudin, it's funny that he claims to not care about Plushenko, but he clearly does care. A lot. He is very fond of giving his unsolicited opinion. And that's all I have to say about that. I wouldn't put much weight on his words...we have a phrase in English, "living well is the best revenge." Plushenko has a great life and the opinions of all of his enemies, frenemies, haters, etc. are irrelevant.

This is one of my favorite montages https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h53_qvQjNM Plushenko-your song.
Do you have a link for the video in Sarajevo where he's wearing the hat?

Besides, as we saw at Sochi, there are far more skaters - current and older - who respect him, and supported him. And I do think there is a reason for that.

Plushy is loved by most skaters, that alone is a great fact. Aside from Yagudin and Tara and maybe some commentators in North America and British, everyone else respect him. Johnny Weir, Irina, Joubert... they all like him as a person and skater as well.

they exchange twetts.... Yagudin says what he wants...;) and what Plushy is doing?

RT @EvgeniPlushenko: Today I played in the new golf club Skolkovo, liked the field! This is my coach Vera Shimanskaya https://twitter.com/EvgeniPlushenko/status/507226863656521728/photo/1

RT @EvgeniPlushenko: Almost every day I train in the club Skolkovo. Come and you to play golf http://instagram.com/p/sfimFnGy5O/

great phrase!

Sorry, I don't have link. I always saw that video in montages or I saw that costume on pictures.

British? Who?

Some people are charismatic because they carefully craft that image and are, internally, insecure and preoccupied with what others think. Other people are charismatic because they don't care what other people think. Plushy, from everything I've seen, is the latter type, and that is why he is so compelling for some people, but so infuriating to others. But no one can say he's boring or ignore him. ;)

My take on Yagudin: The reporters spend so much time asking him about Plushenko (almost every interview!) that it's now become a habit. Every time he gets a platform, his comments keep drifting subconsciously back to Plushenko. Or maybe he's doing PR/campaigning for TAT, so it's in his interest to not say nice things. :p

But anyway, I do my best to follow my own doctrine: Not my business how skaters are off the ice. Yagudin is entitled to his own opinion, no matter how misinformed or inconsistent. I just don't personally give much weight to his views. *shrugs*

My take on Kovtun: Well, like Gallavich said, if he keeps coming back for more... (Also, despite trying my utmost to follow the above doctrine, the Titanic picture + whores comment weren't very endearing).

Anyway, better we don't clog up the thread with this! Something different to discuss: What's the one Plushy performance--outside of Nijinsky and St. Petersburg 300, the generally acclaimed ones--that you connected to the most on a personal level? (For me, it's Carmen in SLC; man, he attacked that program and gave it everything he's got. I don't think I've ever seen him skate with that much fire and abandon).

Robin Cousins, you don't want to read his comments about Plushy. He acknowledged Plushy's achievement, but he hinted that he thought Plushy faked his injury at Sochi.

Oh yes, I read that. He thought in that moment. But if anybody is thinking a little bit doesn't find a reason why he didn't want to compete in Sochi. He loves to compete, he had chance to win a medal after the team competition, in the Arena were 20 000 people because of him(many of them left the Arena when he withdrawal)! That is so illogic... The life is very interesting. Sometimes the life is the best screenwriter.

I love his Carmen! In SLC he was fantastic! I love this less-known version of his Carmen also in Art on Ice show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXJ8tupepcw
Without quads but almost competitive program on the show!! Amazing!

Probably you know this, but this is not to be missed!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORUPuKhjTp8 OMG! How can he be so cute??? He is original and unique! I don't think that fall was on purpose... one of the posters wrote that..What do you think?

Carmen is great, no question, but I think I'll have to go with this Adagio, simply beautiful in every way.

The Snow King poster is ready (that was fast!)! http://instagram.com/p/skpHSpFSKa/?modal=true

Yana's text does seem to confirm that Tomas is the troll...the guys on the right are playing wizards, I guess (although they look kind of troll-y to me?).

I really like this homevideo recording of Carmen. You can see him up close. (And yep, nearly a competitive program. 8 triples, one of every kind, including two 3As!) There's also this version, in red. YMMV on the outfit, but I like how he threw in the Biellmann spiral.

Pfft, who cares about the fall? :p The Biellmann spin was perfect. (To answer your question: No, I don't think the fall was on purpose. I think he's said in interviews that he was injured, tired, and even fell in the exhibition because of that. He made it up for it by landing the jump before the music stopped).

Adagio is elegant and perfect. I'm just attached to Carmen for personal reasons.

I kinda like the fan art poster better, but it's good to have confirmation for the troll's identity.

I think a DVD wouldn't be out of the question, for those living overseas. I just have a horrible feeling said DVD will be available only in Japan (and Japanese DVDs are very, very expensive).

I also don't care of the fall, I just adore how he reacted it. The Japanese tv commentator couldn't stop the laughing... Yes, he was ill between the competition and the gala. He had high fever, but the doctors didn't know what caused it. They thought that probably the stress was the cause. He lost 4 kg!!!

I like every version of his Carmen. He is passionate and the crowd simply adore him in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WszjpwnA1z4 ECh 2003.

and his latest Carmen in Opera on ice 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlnOVLC8S2M

Your favorite video on Art on ice that is from Plushy's personal collection. In 2010-2011 many fans asked him, that made a DVD his all programs and we will buy it. He didn't make DVD but he digitized his mother's video collection about his every program. And the Russian fan club uploaded in Youtube.

If we want to talk SLC, I actually really loved his MJM program. He fell, yes, but then he really ATTACKED the rest of it and sold the heck out of it!

Thanks...do you know what the original music was? I think I read he skated to The Logical Song in Sarajevo, could that be it? Anyway, I like Vitas and I have imagined Plushy skating to his music before...so that was interesting.

I always wished that you could purchase a dvd of all Plushy's performances, especially the rare ones, in HQ video - and other legendary skaters too. But I suppose it could never be possible as the rights are held by so many different organizations.
