Ando seems to get better every time
It COULD be, but I wouldn't count out a skater like Kimmie Meissner, or even Joannie Rochette.

That would be a great World's Podium. Although I would be more delighted if Miki were on top. But I love them both. And Yu Na is pretty good too! 
Not too shocking. Except maybe Suguri under Meier?? What the heck happened there??? Sebestyen last, uh huh :yes:
Yu-Na, Miki and Mao seem to have really good shorts. Let's see who can bring it in the long. $50 says Mao :yes: $20 says Yu-Na.
But I simply can't bring myself to be excited about this. Hopefully Worlds will be much better.

Maybe, but already the fact that Kimmie scored ~58 for the short would already have her several points behind the Japanese. Would she able to rebound in the long to overtake that point deficit? Not if Mao or Kim bring it on. Remember, she didn't have to deal with them last year at worlds. I'm starting to have doubts as well as to whether she can medal this year or not.
That said, Kimmie's relative place in the standings has not gone down since last year. Just like last year, she can still top Fumie Suguri, Sasha Cohen, Elena Sokolova, Emily Hughes, and maybe also Sarah Meier. Sarah has gotten better since last year though because then it wasn't even remotely possible that she could score higher than Fumie. That is the big suprise of this Grand Prix SP.

yeah but Kimmie seems to do better later in the season... so I'm not going to count her out

My feelings about the result is I prefer Miki's skating over all of those entered but it is a competition, and that's the way it is in skateland.
Judges seem to be latching on to Sara whom I see as a very tentative skater but charming.
Wasn't Mao's SP the big thing in Skate America? and then came the LP.:think:

Na, thing is Mao's got hype. Mike ain't got none. Miki's hype ran out in 2004 and now whatever happens, Mao's still the queen of figure skating and Miki's old school, been there done that. Bla.

They do get good Japanese press. Do you think the judges are influenced by the Japanese press?
