Med is not on par with Hanyu in terms of talent, upgraded tech or artistry development (at least not yet)... sorry to say. Also don't forget how Zagitova magically caught up with her in just one season due to federation support and being the younger, safer and future bet, it will happen again and again, as long as there is another valid candidate from the powerfed. Also don't forget Shoma also caught up with Hanyu in a short time, it is not like Russia is the only fed capable of playing these games.

Evgenia probably benefited from her association with Eteri early on, but she’s an international superstar now. She doesn’t need her. I mentioned Hanyu as an example of somebody who moved abroad to train and things went fine.

And yes, obviously there will be new Eteri students coming, but that’s happening anyway, so that shouldn’t impact her calculations.

I must say that after reading the speculation on his fansfest I was shocked, I refused to see the signs annoying me saying that it was just a rumor unfounded like so much else, all that I wish it is that it will be beneficial for Evgenia and she does not lose its wings along the way, like Yulia that I liked. I do not know if she will go to Brian Orser considering that he has already filled his quota with Boyang Jin, Conrad Orzel and Shingo Nishiyama as new skater.
however, I would support her, she is an incredible artist, no matter how much is said .

Wow.... I've been reading all the rumors in the FF about this but I didn't actually think they'd turn out to be true... Zhenya leaving Eteri is actually quite a shock; I didn't see that coming.

I hope whatever Zhenya does next, with whatever coach she works with, she'll be happy.

He's not as good as Orser. If you're going to leave the current best woman's coach and the coach who has brought you to all your medals, you'd want to leave for a BETTER not equal or worse coach. The only option on the table that makes sense from politicking and coaching skills perspective if BOrser.

Boyang will just go to TCC for a summer camp. And other skaters are not directly coached by Borser. Currently he only has Liza Tursyn as top lady. Med can be his no.1 lady IF they can get a deal.

Well, BOrser is not that out of the realm of possibility. IIRC Brian only has E. Tursynbaeva directly under him now, Gabby is under another coach, Lee. If she can pay him (which is likely) & he's willing, it could very well happen.

There are other top tier coaches, but Eteri and BOrser are probably the top 2, so anyone else is a step down. That's not to say that a skater won't flourish under someone completely different, obviously, but it's a change they'll be less likely to make.
