She called Adian lazy and said his decline in results (which was caused by a back injury) was his fault because he wasn't motivated enough.

I think Eteri is completely in the wrong. Remember Evgenia hasn't even made any statement yet about leaving, it was the manager of Sambo-70 that told about her leaving Eteri. Maybe Evgenia wanted to talk to Eteri when she got back from her vacation but now she won't have the chance.

I think probably because they weren't big names like Yulia and Evgenia. Those two leaving puts the public eye on Eteri and of course makes the public question why her top skaters are slowly leaving her.

Can I just add to the discussion the fact that Diana Davies Eteri’s daughter unfollowed Zhenya on instagram and deleted all pics shortly before this all broke out and this was part of the foreshadowing. So unless it’s a coincidence Diana must have know about all of this and unless Zhenya only told Diana which doesn’t seem likely as they don’t seem that close she must have found out from Eteri. This is then means that Eteri must have known beforehand and told Diana only adding more flaws to her story.

I think if both Yulia and Evgenia left like that there is probably a reason why, tbh. It's almost like a defection, in a way.

There probably is a reason for that - They most likely would be afraid of confronting her directly about it, which is something I can understand. Still, it appears that she really dislikes the way they leave and thinks that proper procedure should be followed. This seems to be very important for her.

Eteri just gave an exclusive interview to the Russian TV where she stated that Medvedeva stopped replying to her messages since the mid April. Also she mentioned that Medvedeva said to her leaving the ice at the OG: Couldn't you just keep Alina at Juniors for just one more year? To which Eteri replied: What is wrong with you? We should give a chance to everyone, we cannot keep anyone from getting (what they can achieve).
Eteri also was quite upset that Brian Orser did not cheer on Trusova's quads and acknowledge her success (according to what Eteri felt reading his words from icenetwork article) and she felt that it was a challenge for her from Orser. I guess that now she aims to keep Trusova quads into Seniors and probs beat Medvedeva-Orser team with those.
I'd say she is VERY upset.

Yup, this happened. So I don't think Eteri just learned this from the news, she knew Zhenya was leaving, perhaps she had no idea it was Brian. And Brian is good. So she got really mad.

The thing is.. when your coach is not cheering you on your OGM win as anyone would expect, you feel there's something wrong happening. Perhaps she does not realize it now, she will one day, so I feel for her.

Yup, this happened. So I don't think Eteri just learned this from the news, she knew Zhenya was leaving, perhaps she had no idea it was Brian. And Brian is good. So she got really mad.

What bothers me is that the thing with Orser is still uncomfirmed. How much of a mess would it be if it turned out that Zhenya isn't leaving for Orser after all?

If she does, though, it adds even more doubt that Eteri didn't know about her leaving beforehand.

Should students be so scared of a teacher that they have to run though? I don't think so. And we don't know what truly pushed them to leave also, there might have been confrontations with Eteri we don't know about - in Zhenya's case, I'm sure there were considering how close they seemed to be.

Either way, it's so hypocritical of Eteri to call her childish now after she's said she was her most mature skater, an example for all her students, while she said Alina was the childish one. I'm sure now poor Alina will become the serious, motivated one, and so on... the cycle seems to never end with Eteri.

I'm actually someone who has always been on the fence about her: there were things I didn't like - the way she treated Alina, her comments about women's bodies - but I've always respected her for her ability to create champions. She has lost that respect today though, complaining on TV like some Kardashian sister and bashing someone like that with screenshots and alleged comments that are impossible to prove false or true is just a low, low blow.

Russian forums started to chew this bubble at least three days prior to the official news internet outbreak haha. They got this idea of split because of Eteri vkontakte group started to delete questions on Zhenya, ban people for their questions, stop posting updates on Zhenya, then also Eteri's daughter deleted all the posts about Zhenya on Instagram. So there was a smoke before the fire...
