Meanwhile Iida shined at Olympics, there have been other competitions. I just checked Tallinn hotel cup results. Olivia has had a good Sp and Minja has got SB in sp. Arttu has succeed to land clean 3a. Maybe first time he did it clean in an international comp?

Also Anita Östlundvand Josefin has had good skates. Josefin's Tes 32,07. Let's hope clean free for everybody but especially her.
 
After Tallinn hotel cup the result is no Swedish woman or Finnish men at Worlds. Iida is the one who will get also the Worlds spot, as expected. Not official announcement yet, but I think it will be told in couple of days.

Yes that’s a pity. Even harder this year with the increased required tech for men 109. Valtter has 103.17, Makar 91.96 and Arttu 91.85.

It’s sad that Sweden will again not have a woman at worlds. The TES is reduced from 90 to 88. Josefin has 86.81. Anita Östlund who isn’t even on the national team, is next with 84.41. Coming back after 4 years I hope she stays on. I think she skates for the joy :clap:

Andreas of course got the spot for worlds. Mens CTES increased from 104 to 109. Andreas has 121.65. Hugo has 104.29. Casper has 102.99. So no substitute.

Milla and Nikolaj has 104.76. Required tech is 98.

No Swedish pair competed this season due to John’s injuries :(
 
During the men's short programme the Swedish commentator mentioned that Andreas had split with his long time coach Melanie. On his ISU page she isn't even listed as his former coach (but maybe that's just a mistake). Does any one knows what his current coaching situation is like, if he already has a new coach?
 
The topic about worlds 2027 is (temporary?) closed or I do not have rights to write tehere and there is not thread opened for it yet, so I put this here. Forum staff can move this when competition topis and info thread will be opened.

I was in Tampere this weekend - did not watch worlds almost at all as I had other things to do this week. I stayed in my favorite hotel and had a chat which receptionist lady I have gotten to know that hotel after visiting it so often. I told her I will be there next year. She asked when the competition will be and said oh, that explains why they have suddenly reached several reservations all over the world in short time just in a week for that week. So I made also my reservation today. The weekend prices were already expensive even though I have I have a membership discount and also from thuesday to thursday were more expensive than usually for one person. So be in time if you will be there. The prices go higher closer to the event when there will be more reservations.

I edit this, I think skater's hotel will be the one above the arena which is not Scandic. Well, skaters will like it for sure. I started to check if someone else is cheaper, well most are not, but only this was not available. In all others I checked will be room so far.

As I was linked I give some more hotel tips:
Good hotels to stay in: All Scandic ones, six of them. Rosendahl is not in the centrum, it is about 3 kms from the Arena and Hämeenpuisto is about 1,5 km (1,5 km is about one mile) from the Arena. Other are less than 1 km. Scandic Tampere City is next to Railway station, just a couple of minutes walk from there and about 650 meters from the arena . Note that in Scandic hotels breakfast is not included to fixed price.

Some people think Lapland hotel is the best. Never been there myself, because it is also one of the most expensive ones. There is Lapland hotel Kansi but it was totally reserved for that week so I suppose it is skaters' hotel and it is logical as it is above the arena. In this type Breakfast is included and many people say it is one of the best in Finnish hotels. 800 m- 1 km walk from the arena, depending on which route you choose. I don't know which one is the best, depends on if there are some renevations.

All hotels which have Sokos - three of them, Villa, Ilves, Torni - in front of the name are also safe to choose, and all are less than 1 km from the Arena. from all of there are some rooms from you almost see the arena. Villa is the smallest - and there are two types of breakfast, if you want big breakfast you must go to Sokos Hotel Torni and there is a short walk outside. At the hotel is small porridge breakfast but most tables are not very comfortable for eating. Breakfast included at the moment, changes are possible. Sokos Original hotel Ilves is resently renovated and there is a small shopping mall just next to it. Villa is not just smallest one but probably the nearest and also it is next to a small shopping centre, quite small but there is a good bakery in that centre.

Radisson Sas. Have been there years ago when the name was different, years ok but this chain is ago in other towns. I have heard breakfast not included and in google tips somebody said there is no air condition, but it is not an issue in march in Finland. Temperature will not be so high. Old house, 1,2 km from the Arena.

There are some else also but not me or neither my family members have not visited those, so try Google's reviews. I suppose Marriott are ok also, edited just realized Holiday Inn does not exist any more, it is Scandic now (well I that explains why there are six as last year there was five of them).

If there is somebody who lives in Tampere, he/she can also give tips but as I know the town very well, I tell more tips where to visit when the competition thread is opened and this message can also be moved there.

Something to consider is also that public transport works very well in the city and is relatively cheap for day tickets, nysse.fi/en has all the necessary information, so hotels even further from the centre can work very well. And a lot of the events in Tampere include a public transport ticket in their admission ticket (so essentially you can just scan the admission ticket in the bus/tram/train and travel by that), it's been done in ice hockey worlds, national league hockey games, disc golf worlds and many other major events, so waiting to hear if it'll be something they consider here. (I live in Tampere)

Thank you so much for this info! I so loved the Worlds experience in Prague that I'll be considering attending next year in Tampere. It's very helpful to understand a bit more about the choices, and how much I'll need to open my wallet :wink:

As posted in the new discipline thread, Kaia Kleven is changing club to Follo and plan sto slowly transition into pairs. It´s the same club were Mark Magyar coaches, check out the 2nd slide of the post where she is trying a pair throw with Mark and it´s look promising :)

I hope she transitions well and that is able to find herself a partner.

I have been hoping for a Norwegian pairs team for a while and the timing it´s very good considering the current state of pairs team. Even making it to European Championship would just be very nice for Norwegian skating. I think the issue here will be finding a partner that has Norwegian citizenship already or would like to train in Norway, if Olympics is a goal. I have been joking about wanting Sondre to return as a pair skater since he is thriving doing pairs elements with Disney on Ice, but he is planning one more year with tour and I don´t really think he wants to return to competitive skating but who knows. I can´t think of any other possible Norwegian male skaters at this moment who would transition. I was briefly thinking about Michael Neumann who has been on IPS for a while to find a pairs partner, apparently he lives in Stockholm and he might even have Swedish citizenship, so getting Norwegian citizenship might be easier.

I do not follow Anton Erkama, (men, FIN and still one year junior eligible) at ig but my feed just gave me a clip from his him jumping a clean 3A at practice. To me it looked clean, solid and beautifully landed.
