Patrick Chan

i'm betting on esqualo sp and journey lp

I wouldn't mind this AT ALL. I would love to see how Esqualo would look as a competitive program and I love his FS this season and would like to see him give another try at getting it clean.

I am (quite happily) on Patrick overload!!! My blog post is FINALLY done!!! :yay: In it, I share Chopin, A Journey, and Blackbird, along with the latest life lesson I’ve gleaned from our guy. I hope you all enjoy it. I certainly enjoyed writing it very much! 4everchan and Ic3Rabbit might recognize some of their own words. ;)

I wouldn't mind, either. I can just picture Patrick grinning at the end of a successful, clean Esqualo!

Thank you! I will definitely link to your post on mine! I love what you said about Patrick overcoming his fears!

I finished updating my Worlds posts (yes, more photos came in), and now I'm working on a new update before WTT. I saw this cartoon today and it's so cute! I think you'll recognize Patrick by his costumes right away (even if his FS pants are a different color).

Today I stumbled upon this CBC fluff piece that aired right before Patrick’s Worlds SP. Vivley, it is definitely worth a transcript. A few fascinating things in it:

Skatingfan4ever, I finished the transcript of Patrick from this video. The transcript is in my Worlds Part 1 blog post.

And yes, I linked to your latest blog post on mine. Always nice to meet another writer! :agree:

I created a GIF of Patrick's 4T from COC 2016 and made it look like a continual loop for my WTT preview blog post:

Where the Blackbird Flies: Gliding Into Tokyo

If only he could keep up that sublime jumping and never get tired!

I love it!!!! thank you for incorporating my words! <3

Thank you all! :ghug: I started my blog about two and a half years ago and Patrick is the ONLY figure skater I've ever blogged about, although I enjoy watching many skaters. It takes so much effort and time to provide timestamps and explain things to a general audience that fans on figure skating forums would already understand (like writing out jump names and describing transitions instead of just writing "the transition after the 3A"). So, because it's extra work, there has to be another source of inspiration than simply saying how much I love figure skating. Patrick is certainly my favorite skater, but it helps that he is also extremely open about his experience as a competitive skater (not to mention GS and the Internet making stuff so easy to access). This makes it relatively simple to use his comments as the basis of the blog post. That way, even if people aren't into the skating itself, they can still be inspired and uplifted by reading the post. I hope they enjoy the skating too, of course. Is it terrible that Patrick is the only skater I want to take the time to blog about? Maybe I'll do a blog post when he retires after Pyeongchang and end it with, "There are other figure skaters besides Patrick Chan; it's just that he's my figure skater."
