Patrick Chan

Oh. Wow. I think. that probably I need to leave here a few lines from myself. In advance I want apologize for all my mistakes, cos I still have too many emotions, that I can think how to write correctly. I need to breathe out and gather my thoughts.
It was an exciting competition. And at the same time was insanely joyful. Patrick managed to break my heart and fix it - maybe more than one time. I'm very glad that he made change in his short program, glad, that he tries to keep pace with all the other skaters and keep his words. Yes, he couldn't do all that want, but for his attempt ... for his strength ... I seem to have come to love him even more than before.
What Patrick did in K&C... I don't even know how to describe it - definitely, Patrick in K&C - it was an a special kind of art))) Noone could compare with his madness and his fun. And with his divine, sunny smile. He was just extraordinary. It isn't surprising that almost every one of his shots was expanded on the Internet - he surprised and made laughs every time. Not everyone can do it. To be able to seem stupid and not to be embarrassed by this - is a special talent. This is another point for why I love him so much.
And the last ... and the most difficult. Of course, this is his free program. I'm writing and my hands are trembling, cos I understand that I saw her for the last time. And it's very sad, very painful, because I managed to love it with all my heart - it's so piercing, so strong, so alive, and so it suits Patrick: as if it's the reflection of his whole career that we can be heard in the flow of music and the movement of his skate.
I'm glad that he could do all three quads, but at the same time it's very insulting for his axel - if Patrick could do it - he can be the first.
But his smile after this ptogram ... I don't know. This was something special. This photo is on my phone screensaver :3 And every time I look at it, my heart falls down. And I'm glad that this season he so often pleased us with such a happy sunny smile.

Thanks him for this season: and joy, and tears, and excitement, and happiness, and anger - everything was in excess. And this was an amazing end of the season. Thank you Patrick.
And once again I was finally convinced: there is something that never change: I believe in Patrick Chan.

And here another gorgeous Patrick's photo:

thank you Ayara ! what a beautiful post ! Don't worry about mistakes/English whatever !!! Your words were received very well in my heart ;)

We often say that music is the universal language, Patrick's skating also reaches universally. He has younger and older fans, from all over the world, some prefer his skating skills, some prefer his pure jumping style, some like his balanced package, many like his other voluptuous things, but in the end, he touches everyone... whoever they are and whatever they like. That is what an idol does. A superhero ;)

Let's cheer up a bit!!! He is still skating one more year (at least ;) ) !!!! Go Patrick!!!!

I want to see him wearing nothing but the moose hat...
I totally expected someone to post that reply but I thought it would be 4everchan. ;) Instead it was the newbie! Keep it up!!!

Well, 4everchan, belated congratulations on your 10,000th post. I've said before that if you were paid by the word for your contributions to this forum, you'd be a very rich man!!! :) I've enjoyed every word! Thank you!!!
many of my posts have been calling out people who were disrespectful of our boy in other threads.
 :thank:

In the meantime, I'll try to wrap my head around the reality that this skating season is over... But I am confident that Patrick's magic never fades!
Vivley, your blog is nearing it's first year anniversary and it's an unequivocal success. Congratulations! I hope you can take a little break before the Olympic season starts. I think you've earned it! And yes that is a wonderful graphic. :luv17:

Ayara, other posters have already given you well-deserved compliments on your post but I am stunned by the beauty and elegance of these words. Wow! There's nothing left to say.

Patrick has taken us all on a journey this year and I am grateful to him - and to all of you. :ghug:

Wow, what an amazingly heartfelt post, Ayara. I'm so happy to see that Patrick has touched so many hearts around the world like yours this season with his programs. Truly, he has grown so much in his ability to transport his audience into a world of beauty and artistry that only he can create.

I loved his smile after the WTT LP as well, which is why I made a GIF of it for my blog. That smile was a genuine smile of happiness. Did you see the shape of his eyes? I love it! He was happy with his effort and it showed!

Keep believing in Patrick - he needs it to keep his fairy dust alive! ;)

Aww... thank you! I am going on a little spring break this week, too. Truly I would blog about Patrick full-time if I could! Usually I rotate blogging about him with my other responsibilities, and so far it's worked out.

Hugs back to you! Patrick's journey has only gotten more exciting since he's come back. I can't wait to see what happens next, but I am also grateful for him, his talent, and for all his fans here and worldwide. :ghug: Thanks for reading and supporting my fan site (yes, I just made more updates)!

:love::love::love: Love to you all!

hehe skating doesn't directly/exactly relate to what i do but has a lot in common with it : i am a musician. So, I have been through a lot of the similar phases about preparing for performances etc, and reaching a level of focus that allows to communicate with the audience etc. Also, a lot is similar as they are both skilled based and require utmost dedication... the main difference : when i mess up, I don't fall on cold slippery ice ;) and of course, musical interpretation is only a small part of skating but it's what I do so I am very demanding about that and I think that's what drew me to Patrick because every move he makes is connected to the music and his heart.

thank you for explaining and the insight about music! that's awesome!

patrick is a master of musical interpretation. i love the way he is always able to become the character he's expressing in his routines. i love watching his skating because he is such an artist. i know i've said this a million times but i think the presentation, musical interpretation, and artistry of skating is a beautiful thing and patrick just does it so well. i love how his skating becomes part of the music and there's a reason why he is a respected veteran and champion of the sport! :luv17:

You're welcome and hugs back to you as well! He's a bit camera shy, so I love looking for new photos of him!

And here's a sweet story about how a fellow Patrick fan got a signed ball... via Yuzuru:

I would love to get that fan's story! :agree:

Now, I'm off to bed and travel in the morning!

Just back from hospital to see Patrick being trashed for not being politically correct. :drama:
I know Patrick means well. I mean the guy understands technique. He has the rights to comment on the way technique is judged right now.

What is this about? Where did you see that? :/

I love this pic :luv17:, because you see how perfect he holds his fingers. This is something about him wich reminds me of Yuna Kim. She also had level 4 arms, hands and fingers. You do not see it very often with male skaters.

.... and the same trash. Sometimes I wonder how much trash some people warehouse in their minds. Moi, I treasure my mind and like to put it to good use.

Patrick, Jeremy Abbott, and sometimes Adam Rippon. But yes, it's rare in male skaters of today. ;)

Hi all, now that the season is over, just wanna stop by and say how I really appreciate Patrick's LP this season.
Greaaattt choice of a music, I'm always emotional at the end of his skate.
Probably his best LP to date IMO?
His spin is to die for, and there's this particular footwork he did after 2nd half 3Lo that goes like backward 1-2-3 (left foot-right foot-left foot), step, 1-2-3 (right-left-right), that makes me go :jaw: when I saw it.
Did I make any sense? Probably not

But the point is, great LP this season. I remember Carol Lane said that he's one of the most beautiful skaters currently exist during World champ, and this LP really ratifies it.
Hope we can see great LP from Patrick next season!

Hi and welcome! I know exactly which footwork section you are talking about. ;) And yes, it's the best and not every skater could pull it off, Patrick is one of the very few special skaters that can.
