Patrick Chan

Maybe Patrick has been in BC for the moon cakes.

Happy Autumn Moon Festival, Patrick and his fans!

Happy Autumn Moon Festival to Patrick and everyone.

I love Mooncakes! ;) They are full of flavour BUT also very high in calories. :eeking:

Patrick and everyone, enjoy your Mooncakes and pay attention to avoid eating too much. :agree2:

I've been enjoying my favorite moon cakes daily. The (double) yolks and the lotus seeds are great and delicious nutrition so what if I take in some sugar and unhealthy vegetable oil with it? :) After all, Autumn Moon Festival is also my birthday and moon cakes are my birthday cakes. They only come around once a year. Let's live and celebrate!

My father used to say we didn't need holidays and festivals as excuses to feast. Very wise man he was. We ate well.
VB, it's your birthday???

It's VB's birthday!!!

Happy Birthday, Violet Bliss!!!!!! May you have many more birthdays to come!!!
:hb:

I'm not afraid of calories. :handw: Effect of food calories is a baseless belief. How can they (calorie theory proponents) equate a body's processing of food to burning of food outside the body? And different bodies process food differently. Neither do they know how much of the calories in different foods gets absorbed. After all, they don't measure the calories of what come out of the body! We know different animals feed on left over and pre-digested nutrition, e.g. dung beetles and baby elephants.

We also know some people get fat on any number of calories and others eat all they want and stay slim. I eat for nutrition and enjoyment (nuts by the kilos :o:) and I'm not overweight and am often envied for lack of the middle bulge!

I say relax, love your body and your foods and eat accordingly. You will do right when the actions are love based instead of fear or hate based.

My father was into astronomy in his fifties when I was a teenager. He used to take me outside at night to skygaze with him and showed me the constellations. Ah, no light pollution then and there.

when i go home... i spend a lot of time stargazing.... here i live right downtown... the stars i see at night are not in the sky... some are brighter than others too LOL

but in vancouver... i lived right near the beach... by the pacific spirit park.... and the stars there... even better .... i have seen shooting stars for a lifetime... fun anecdote, one of my friends from london uk had never seen a shooting star in his life ... we showed him the perseids... he freaked out...

I came across this weibo news yesterday accidentally and it made me laugh. I didn't even know these movie stars or remember their names so I had to search and hunt down this weibo pic and message to show you. He's a 33 yo rising star from Taiwan and she's a very accomplished 48 year old actress, singer, writer, directer, producer.

"This beautiful mom radiates happiness. All afternoon she taught me how to get slim while she ate non stop."

You can wish me happy birthday again in two days. I don't mind growing two years older in two days.

Whenever it is, Happy Birthday! :hb: :dance2: :party2: And now I have to Google moon cakes, since I have no idea what they are!

Well, happy 中秋節 and happy birthday, too! I hope you get to see a clear and bright moon tonight!

Red bean mooncake is my favorite... I wonder which flavor Patrick likes?

Did you all see this EDEA photo from a different angle (hat tip to @onoyuzu1)?

Nice Canadian skate guards!

Traditionally, :) Patrick's Japan Open is a birthday gift for me. This year I'll just have to wait for something better from him later.

Happy Birthday!!! Wish you many happy returns!!! VB :gclap:  :hap10:

I'm considering we're lucky for having 2 birthdays to celebrate every year but I often forget my BD on the Lunar Calendar lol . I will send you another BD wishes in 2 days. ;)

We all have our favorite mooncakes flavors; I'm interested in knowing how much Patrick loves those tradition Chinese mooncakes.:)

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I never got so many in my life! May we all share the blessing of the full moon, signifying fulfillment and togetherness.

但願人長久,千里共嬋娟

Could red bean paste be Patrick's favorite flavor? I recall a photo of him from years back eating red bean soup with about another 8 empty bowls on the table. It was proclaimed to be his favorite food. This was taken in a bedroom, (hotel ?) by a skater roommate.

On Thanksgiving weekend, I am grateful for Patrick Chan.... without him, figure skating would not have reached new models of excellence in combining skating skills, musicianship and flawless jumps.

Go Patrick and Happy Thanksgiving everyone... ( i am still on partial hiatus from GS.. high maintenance house guest)

No news of Patrick...hope he is ok. Looking forward to seeing him in Regina. I wont be at Nationals so it is great that I will see all our champions.
