I am excited for it though. Sure, I will miss Patrick.. but it will be interesting as I am guessing that the USA men and perhaps the Russians too will benefit from it, and in those two countries, nothing is decided about who is making the O team... so it will be one more opportunity for these guys to shine.

as my supervisor used to say " interesting doesn't necessarily mean good " or "interesting, says who?? you???? " she was intense ;) :laugh2: let's hope we have some "interesting" fun in a few weeks :) Dance and Pairs will be lethal too...

So Patrick is a minor and dating a cougar? :)

He has always had girlfriends older than himself but we don't really know anything about this newly discovered love interest.
 
I appreciate reading all the messages of support and loving advice to Patrick!!! I :agree: with them because you all are such awesome fans. No comment about the other stuff...:slink: May Patrick enjoy much good health and happiness. When will he get back to training, though? :p I am ready to be wowed when he skates at Nationals!!! :yes:

You know. People will think i am crazy but i dont care. I will say it anyways. Sometimes, romantic interest comes when one tries to escape other realities like work or pressure from high goals. Etc. I have seen many people falling in love and not completing their education or goals they had set up for themselves. It can really skew someone's priorities. If i were MZ i would say. : Chiddy, no more trips to Vancouver or else you can just train with Joanne. I bet that may have some impact.

Patrick is not impetuous and he has managed long distance relationships before, meaning he managed his goals and priorities. We also don't know if he's been making frequent trips to BC and if his presence in BC is due mainly to his love relationship, which we also don't know much of, including how long it's been in his life.

OTOH, I can easily understand his frustrations with the competitions and quad requirements since his return.

Love is one very good way to procrastinate.... trust me about that ;) this is why I am single, otherwise, I wouldn't have time to do anything LOL... however, to a lesser degree, my love for skating does take me a bit of time (going to events, watching events and this website) which I could use as well to do more productive things...

It is a hard thing to balance... I just hope that our special boy can manage a perfect equilibrium.... yes, he seems to have done that before... but this is different... we all noticed that Patrick had a new attitude... he skipped NHorn...to go to BC?? we also noticed he looked nervous at Skate Canada..... and then skipped NHK.... to train, but well.. he is smooching in a liquor store ;)

that's the kind of training i do... perhaps not the kind of training an olympic contender does :laugh:

SAME (except for going to live events)!!! The things we do as diehard figure skating fans. :laugh2: This includes listing favorite moments in programs, no matter how small, with accurate terminology, and using protocol abbreviations readily. And knowing warhorses are warhorses, and knowing that Senior Bs and summer competitions exist. I could go on, but I'll stop there. ;) :laugh: Okay, now I feel like I should get off GS and do some of my "productive things." :)
