Patrick Chan

I wish Patrick will be used to a morning competition, relax and skate with confidence tomorrow!

I believe he will have shaken out the jet leg and morning aversion by then. He seems to be in a good place mentally.

Canada makes a great team and it's very nice to see them so united:)

These skaters have been the faces of Canada's figure skating together, all having extremely high achievements with their varied personal journeys. These friends and teammates (most of them) are now determined to go out together with a shared Olympic glory and don't mind working hard for it. I too am happy and cheering for their shared dream coming true.

Go Patrick!!

Yes, go Patrick! Go Team Canada!

Okay, now back to watching the ladies and ice dance - and then blogging.

It's gonna be a late night tonight!

Congratulations, Patrick and friends! You're Olympic Champions! Just as you wished, envisioned and worked hard for. Dreams do come true with faith and grit, and a dream and honour shared with your long time close friends must be that extra special! Bask! Enjoy! Celebrate!

I hope today's victory propels you to even higher level of mindfulness, confidence, and inspired performances to come at these Olympics. May I see you at another victory ceremony. Stay healthy, happy, relaxed and focused.

Go Patrick!

CONGRATULATIONS Patrick and Team Canada:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Patrick is a Olympic Gold Medalist!!!

Yes! the team spirit of Canada is awesome. Thank you Canada, that was so moving!

Couldn’t be happier for Patrick and Team Canada!! I’m also proud that he put together a skate with two gorgeous quads. Not perfect but steadily improving with each outing, and most importantly, he got the 10 points for the team!

This article came out after the short programs, but I was really touched by Scott saying that they wanted to win the gold for Patrick and that they were proud of him for fighting through the short program. https://www.sportsnet.ca/olympics/unified-canadian-figure-skating-team-first-sitting-pretty/

Says Moir: “The goal is clearly to win.”

It sure would be extra nice for Patrick Chan, one of the most accomplished figure skaters in history, the three-time world champion who is missing only Olympic gold from his extensive hardware collection, after winning silver in Sochi. In his short program in this team event, Chan fell twice, but still managed to finish third overall. He’ll skate his long program in Monday’s finale. “In a big way,” Moir says, “we wanna do this for Chiddy.” (That’s Chan’s nickname.)

“I think that’s what makes it so special,” Moir adds. “I mean, Patrick Chan, you could make the argument he’s the best skater that ever was … He was disappointed in his skate yesterday. We were actually quite proud. We loved the way he battled to the end. I know that’s not a Patrick Chan skate, but what I did see was him battle and it was a veteran move. It got us in the position that we needed to be in.”

I'm so happy for Patrick:yahoo:! He finally got his WELL deserved gold medal. For years, I didn't get his skating or his scores but then one day someone told me to watch one of Patrick's programs completely muted and only focusing on his feet and I became enlightened. Even after stripping away the music and the arm/body movements, Patrick's skating still shines. He doesn't need anything embellishment because his actual skating is just THAT good.

Extra :2thumbs: for your post.

Am so happy he got his gold and got in first to get it as well.
He made the right decisions this season and it paid off.

Olympic Gold Medalist Patrick Chan.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
