Pick the music you want your favorite skaters to skate to in the coming season!

Ah Sibelius. I loved driving through the New England country side in the Spring, in an open convertible listening to his Symphony #2, and NO I do not think anyone in skating today could use it.

I believe a skater or choreographer has to agree: 1. the music is skateable. 2. how to splice it down to the rules of the ISU. 3. question whether the skater has the emotional interpretation (happy, sad, majestic, ethereal, etc.) towards the music. and 4. which we do not know is, if the Judges have a personal distaste for the music.

Once that is decided, is it worth going against the tried and true (Carmen, Tosca, Roti R&J, etc.)? There is risk. much of the CoP is not quantifiable but opinionated. It's not just pretending to be an acrobatic ballerina. There is a sport going on as well.

:eek::eek:
That reeks of trainwreck, but it might as well be awesome. I've never been more excited to see Brian's program.

Joubert doing Malaguena? That could work out really well. He's got the bold personality to pull it off, and he's good at footwork.

Malagueña alhough often used by skaters is a step out of te box for Brian. I have no idea what this is going to look like, it could be hot mess, very good or background music but I am keeping an open mind. Personally I love this piece and understand why is keeps being picked year after year.

Yeah, it's like Scheherezade--a rich, evocative piece. I know we all complain that some pieces are done to death, but there's a reason for it. As many times as I've seen West Side Story used, it always pulls me in.

Berlioz: Harod in Italy for Patrick Chan. It is a full symphony, I think a choreographer who knows how to select nice sections from this symphony will serve as a wonderful vehicle for Chan to express his style/ and artistry

I found Vivaldi's spring playing the piano.
Here it is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5hR8ojqE&feature=channel
This performance is like breezing,so I suggest it to Mao,who is fresh on the ice:love:

love Carolina's music all the time,so I try to look for the piece foe her.
How about Johann Strauss Jr's Wine, Women and Song?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV5JBrRZvTE&feature=related sounds Mirai could do well,too.

Or Eugene Onegin Opera - Waltz by Tchaikovsky? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz7JREul22g&feature=related

I have no specific music in mind, but would love to see Lysacek skating to Tango or Paso Doble...
