Bonne fête de la St-Jean-Baptiste!:hb:

Who is a certainly a popular guy, because San Juan Bautista is also a huge holiday in Puerto Rico, and as my area has a large Puerto Rican population, the parties start soon!:dance3:

let's dance !!!! :) :dance3:

I turn 40 next March and still haven't got a complete grasp on how to adult properly lol! I've been told life starts at 40 and it better be true as turning 30 was a disaster! Whoever coined the term 30 is the new 20 was obviously some lucky person that had things go their way in life

I know the feeling! I'm 31, and I'm no-where near working it out either. :scratch2:

BUT, for the past couple of weeks, I have been feeling all grown up... because I got a proper ID card!

Yes, I've had a couple of photographic ID cards in the past - my student card at Uni and the card to get into the NI Public Records Office. But this is my first official and generally recognised card.

The UK doesn't have an ID card system. So, for photographic ID, you have to use either your:

  • passport (too cumbersome to carry about, and too scared of losing it)
  • driving licence (haven't learnt, and in NI you still have to keep the card attached to the paper bit, so it is even more cumbersome than a passport)
  • bus pass (far too young - you have to be over 60)
  • NI Electoral Identity Card (don't want anything to do with politics)

But, when I was renewing my Irish passport, I found out that they now do a passport card, which you can use instead of the normal passport book within Europe. And I thought "never mind using it as a passport, that would be handy as an ID card". So, I ordered one of them as well.

And ever since it arrived, I have been feeling all grown up!

I know. It's not a big thing. But, it is a big thing for me.

Little pleases the innocent... :)

dance based on those emojis above in exact order would make a new 'YMCA', I am sure:laugh::laugh:

carrot-banana cake is sitting in the oven - I thought I'd bake my mom a cake for her birthday and give it to her tomorrow when I'll arrive at home, instead of buying some fancy chocolate pralines, hopefully she'll enjoy it:)

After giving up all sugary soda for awhile, I dipped my toe into trying diet sodas for the first time in my life.

Sadly, now I've become a diet soda addict (especially Diet Dr Pepper)! :disapp:

FYI the sins of artificial sweeteners include appetite stimulation.

Hearing this makes me feel little better. I'm 25 and it feels like there's this intense pressure from society for people my age to have things Figured Out and be living in our own house with a "real job" (whatever that means). And then here I am, baking cookies on a Saturday night and watching reruns of Lost, lol.

So yesterday I was up at 2am ( woke up before the alarm for 3am and couldn't get back to sleep ), drove 40 minutes ( would have been half hour if the gps didn't cut out ) to a pick up spot for our bus for 5am ride for an hour to the shop we were working at, worked 8.5 hours, on the bus again for an hour, spend 50 minutes getting home in after school traffic on the free way, idiots driving in my neighbourhood, finally get home to put my feet up and have a nice cold well earned beer then, a pesky take no for an answer door to door salesman try to sell whatever rubbish and having to not so politely telling him to bugger off! I've entitled myself to that cranky mood I thought!!! :D ( and it was Monday that means extra entitlement ;) )

Gave up all carbonated beverages long ago... it supposedly is bad for bone health... took a little while to get used to going without but don't miss it at all. Now use herbal tea infusions instead, made quickly easily at home, sweetened with honey and decanted to grab and go... SO much better...

The only diet drink I've ever liked is diet Dr Pepper but a few years back I dropped all soda from my diet and only occasional will allow myself a Pepsi here and there but I honestly don't even like it. I used to drink tons of soda as a kid so I'm surprised that I am actually able to say that I don't even really like it anymore and mean it.

Agree. The body seems to catch on fast when it has an alternative it can use to build health.
The human body is smart if the human mind gives it a chance!!

A few years ago, I was constantly hearing about this actress, and I decided that I wanted to watch something she was in to see what all the fuss was about. But, then I found out that in nearly all her films, she has a habit of forgetting to keep her clothes on the whole time. And I didn't want to judge her on her body. (Although, to be fair, she is gorgeous!)

So, I picked her very first film as the one I wanted to watch. Well, there was a lot of fuss about the film at the time, and I wanted to know if it was as bad as I thought it might be.

It wasn't that long after this that the sequel was shown on TV. But, being the logical person that I am, I taped it and waited for the first film to be shown. And I waited... And I waited... And I waited...

Fast forward 5 years...

Since this year's series of Britain's Got Talent finished, I've gotten into the habit of watching the family films that RTÉ show on Saturday evenings. And last Saturday, the film I was waiting for was shown. But, I was watching something else, so I taped it and watched it today.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points:

I thought it was going to be one of those films that was designed for teenage girls and which would be unbearable to watch if you were either male or over 15. But, it wasn't. It was actually really funny. And heart-warming.

So, taking this thread right back to the start...

I'm a dude and I love (and am watching) Legally Blonde :hopelessness:

I am a guy and I love:hopelessness:

[Highlight the black bit to read the title]

Now I can't wait to watch the sequel!!! (Thank goodness I have it taped and don't have to wait another 5 years! :drama: )

I guess it's time to confess I'm addicted to La Croix. Though I'm buying the generic Safeway version cause it's cheaper.

What's your favorite flavor? I have an addiction to this stuff too. :)
