Random Confessions

I took my Adult Silver Freeskate test today and it was 'special'. I somehow managed to pass which must be the universe's 30th birthday gift to me. My warm up was a complete disaster. I didn't feel that nervous before but apparently I was because my body was like "Let's forget how to do everything you know and fall on things you never fall on, that sounds fun." I managed to stay upright through my program which I guess after that disaster of a warm up is a positive. I had to reskate two things and was iffy. I was pretty convinced I had failed. Overall, I'm happy I passed but not happy with how I passed. If I ever get to gold I want to skate the test in a way I can be proud of. That just wasn't it today.

yesterday, I re-watched on YT some Latin ballroom tournaments, and in one of them (probably in Moscow) during finals, 'Uptown Funk' played as...samba:confused:

those ballroom competitions never fail to surprise me - and I immediately thought about Madison Chock and Evan Bates in connection to their last season's SD - they could borrow that arrangement and be ready for this season:laugh:

 :agree:

I'll try to link the video of the final reel in this very competition after work ;), for the record:laugh:. I just will say that Moldovian couple was my favourite at this tournament - Anna Matus and Gabriele Goffredo, she is such a star and their technique...love their samba and cha-cha-cha in particular (they did not dance to 'Uptown Funk' rendition though;)). I also like French and Germans - Nina Bezzubova's dress (German pair) was my favourite:love:

I am no good at working out these "Elf on the shelf" variation pictures that people post. :disapp: Normally, I have to be told the answer. :slink:

But, this morning I saw one and got it instantly!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points:

You've heard of Elf on the shelf. Now get ready for...

And anybody from Ireland who is over the age of 20 should also get it instantly. :agree:

Innocent children's TV at it's best.

Thinking about all the GS mods today with the news that broke a couple hours ago about Russia. So glad I'm not in that position anymore

First snow of the year!! So excited!
I love winter!

Lucky! we had snow, but all this week it's been rain/freezing rain. the roads are terrible. I want snow, at this point it's not looking good for the mushing season!

Confession: I was disappointed with the Free Dance at the GPF... I'm normally not bored watching the dance competition but ugh...

I have my Math final on Monday. I jave been studying for 2 weeks, but my brain doesn't retain anything :(

I haven't watched juniors before.
I watched some of the JGPF and I was looking at the free skate and accidentally clicked on the short program. I'm a brunette by the way, and possibly the dumbest person in the world.
I seriously sat there and watched about 30 min of the junior ladies short thinking it was the free skate. I was very confused by the low scores and short programs, yes. Somehow I convinced myself that it must be because they are juniors they have a different scoring system and everything is worth half the points, they skate for half the time and do half as many jumps. I even thought to myself that it must be difficult turning senior and having to recalculate the scores in their head to be double what they are used to.
FACE PALM.
Eventually I figured it out.
I promised myself I would never tell anyone.
Yet here I am.

yesterday, there was a workshop with professional florists for Christmas ornaments at my workplace and I attended - t6his was so much fun! I really forgot how arts, creating process can get me energized, inspired and feeling plain great:). I've made a Christmas wreath from scratch - full of green and beautifully pine-like scented, I've chosen not bedazzled version though:laugh: - mine was manly green, with red and brown accents and with cute, 'industrial' bow, I'll try to post a picture later:)

to follow-up on the above - I've usually baked banana bread from oat flour, but I ran out of it yesterday and used millet one for a change - and what a great change it was! I ate 2 slices for breakfast: it's more 'fluffy', lighter, had this nut-like flavour (or maybe I'm a nut and feel this:laugh:).

Banana cheesecake also succeeded I think, it was my first attempt - I've added raisins to make it more 'extra';), as usual: no flour, no fats, base made from wholegrain biscuits, sugar replaced by bananas:)

Today it is 33 degrees celsius

I am making a pinata cake for our Christmas morning tea next week :yay:

is it a part of some tradition in Australia? How is it look like? I am always interested by those local things considering cooking:), thank You, karne in advance for any info!:thank:

:(
I want to help someone... I think I went thtough something similar, but I don't know them that well and I don't want to make them uncomfortable or make assumptions. I want to send them a message, so they don't feel pressured. What to do... :(
