Are there still no male rhythmic gymnasts? You see them now on synchro teams in both skating and swimming. I'm surprised still not to see any in RG.

Male RG is a complicated question, it does exist but in two forms: the Spanish style (same as women's RG) and the Japanese/Russian style (with different apparatus and rules). Since there are competing gymnasts in both styles it's hard to decide which should be the official male RG, and since male RG is very minor there isn't much interest to spark an influential discussion. FIG should be looking into it since RG might be kicked out of the Olympics if the gender imbalance isn't settled (so far the gender balance has been kept under the 'Gymnastics' umbrella with MAG's two additional apparatus gold medals accounting for RG's two gold medals, individual and group) but the conversation has been very slow. There are known Spanish male RG gymnasts with fans such as Eneko Lambea and Gerard Lopez if you want to check them out

Yes, she have more potential than Laura but i think both are great , is idea mine or the leotard of both in ball routine are very similar?

New fan of rhythmic here! I recently watched the full 2016 AA Final and was so glad margarita mamun won, I liked her style better. But as for nowadays, I think it's a German gymnast who won the recent Olympics. I'm rooting for Barbara Domingas, I think she's great. And I hope Atamonov can make some input.

New fan of rhythmic here! I recently watched the full 2016 AA Final and was so glad margarita mamun won, I liked her style better. Yeah, Mamun was great technically talking but is very technical and doesn't have any expression or looks cold . About Darja Varfolomeev is great but I love the style of the Bulgarian gymnasts , is very balanced between technical and expression.

Barbara Domingo have a own style but like the rhythmic gymnastics school have a lot of jazz style (Sao Paulo jazz and Bossa Nova style I think) is technical but also is Rich in corporal expression. I seen her in person in Panamerican games 2023 and if seeing a video of her is great , see her routines in person is amazing and mind blowing.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Alice Taglietti this afternoon, so happy she was able to find the mental strength to return to gymnastics despite what she went through.

She did quite well yesterday:

Akmaral Yerekesheva is running away with the junior AA title, with Erika Zailauova leading the AA after two rotations the Kazakh team in Greece is overall doing quite well. Despite Elzhana Taniyeva's retirement their individuals still remain strong, my personal fave among them is Milana Parfilova although I'm kinda scared that she might go the Sabina Bakatova route, i.e. start becoming inconsistent and retire early, breaking my heart in the process.

The Bulgarian team could be doing better, it is early in the season but so far most have struggled with at least one routine. The exception happens to be my current Bulgarian junior fave Magdalena Valkova, after she bombed control training I was seriously worried that she might not be picked for her home JWC but it seems like it was just early season jitters. I do wish that she didn't have two routines with music used by the previous senior groups though, the routines are quite nice and the choreographers must've picked the music because they thought they could make good routines out of them once again, but seriously, a ball routine to the OGM 5 balls routine music and a clubs routine to the WC-winning 3+2 routine music???

I'm very happy to see Alice Taglietti back in major international competitions and in good shape at that, her best routines always happen to be her ball for some reason and this season is no exception (I know she kept the ball from last season but still applies). Isabelle Tavano's legs are still very long and nice but I wish that I could like her routines as much as I like her lines, maybe follow Tara Dragas's example and get Brigita Krasovec to choreograph for her?

Edit: forgot to add that Ksenia Pototski has a side scale that is comparable to Lila Lewinska's in ugliness

The stream is working for me with no issues, but they also only started livestreaming after your post.

Not happy with the lack of updates on the official webpage though - They still haven't linked the starting orders and no live scoring either, which I think they did have last season.

Lytra was ok , me too missed it her consistency , is forgiving because is her first competition i think .

Olexandra Shalueva was great, her ribbon routine was very nice and with that Bulgarian style, wow!!

Missed all of this with computer problems for several days . I hope there will be more upcoming competitions so I can learn who the gymnasts are and start following their progress. Right now I'm still at the stage where I just watch and enjoy, but know nothing about individual careers so far or their potential.

maybe can suggest some channels in telegram that always shares the videos of the championships and is very useful if later for any reason can't find the videos because youtube decided erase it or was banned because the never ending story (music copyrights problems)
