Would You Rather...

Water amusement park for me, I don’t last 5 minutes sitting still in those hot springs 😂

I work from home in my pajamas and on a time zone different than mine so that leaves me all day to do the things that are important to me and the time between dinner and sleep time is time to work = make money, so no, working remotely allows me to focus on what reality matters to me, not interested in going anywhere for my work.

Would you rather get ready at home to go skating (except for skates, of course), or get all ready at the rink?

Get ready @ home (I do that for the gym when I swim there. I put on my bathing suit @ home).

WYR get up early or stay up late?

Stay up late. I hate mornings with much passion. I see the Americans going to practice at 5 and 6 am and I can’t phantom getting up from bed, ready and start any practice at this time. My practice starts at 13:00 and those who have the morning practice the earliest is 9:30. When I danced ballet, either as student of ballet or professional, I never had a class before 9 ( I never danced in the USA, Israel-Europe-Russia only)and even at 9 I was half asleep for the first 30 minutes 😂

Would you rather go to a summer intensive or just keep practicing at your home rink (or studio if not skating)

I'd rather go to the summer intensive, I think summer camps are a great way to combine summer vacation with some more intensive effort of the kind you love,

Would you rather do your daily exercise routine in the morning (to get more energy) for the day or at night (to sleep better)?

Earn it (even though it would be nice to win some)

WYR travel on a holiday weekend or stay home & avoid the traffic?

Stay home, always! (Not an enthusiastic traveller)

If you were a professional photographer, would you rather shoot still photos or make films?

That's a tough choice as I love both. But I guess stills.
Staying in the same mindset, if you were to make fims, would you rather go for docs or fiction?

Fiction. Something historic so I could have the fun of designing the costumes, props, and sets myself.

Would you rather live in an open-plan loft space with minimalist decor, or in a rambling old house full of many possessions and collectibles.

I come from a long and unabashed line of packrats, so definitely the latter (minimalist makes me itch).

Wood floors or carpet, if you had to choice one?

Virtually my entire condo, including the enclosed balcony, is carpeted, so that answers that one. If I'm going to be tripped up by a cat, I want to have a soft surface to fall on. Also in an apartment building, if you have bare wood floors (of which even the look makes me chilly), the neighbours below don't like you very much.

You're invited to a wedding. The invitation says all guests must wear a specific colour to match the bride's chosen colour scheme. Do you go along with that, or do you RSVP regrets? (I've been reading that that sort of command is a thing these days :jaw:.)

(When we bought our house, the kitchen had carpet and it was a Great Day when we had it ripped out. What boggles my mind is the time past when bathroom carpet was a thing.)

Definitely decline, I'm with Miss Manners, that is just plain rude (and yes, I have seen it) but I wouldn't have the nerve to accept and then go in a neon-clash shade just to make the point.

Have you ever had to wear a uniform (corporate or other) for work?

No, librarians don't even if they work in armed forces HQs or in a prison. But when I worked for two years in the Library of Parliament in Ottawa, working with MPs and getting caught in photos taken by tourists, there was a strict dress code.

Would you rather be a volunteer at the Winter Olympics mingling directly with the skaters and being (some of the time) at rink side but often called away just as someone you wanted to see was performing, or see it all as a fan but from farther up in the stands and unable to be close to the skaters or talk to them?

Be a volunteer!

WYR have short or long hair?
I'd rather be a volunteer, too!
I never had short hair in my life so it pretty much answers the question :) Long, always!
When you come to this age, WYR let your hair be naturally white/grey or dye it to give it some colour?

Dye it. I already am that age. In my grandmother's ordinary farming family everyone, men and women, were very slow to grey, ending up in their 80s or older with just a bit of grey at the temples and the rest naturally black. I got that gene, but with my other grandmother's dark red hair. Red of any shade doesn't age well. It just fades and looks dull. So I put temporary dark blonde or light auburn rinses (it's too babyfine for the chemicals in permanent colours) over that just to brighten it up. It doesn't really change the colour, just keeps people from asking "Are you feeling all right? You look sort of washed out.";)

Would you rather be on the executive of an association you feel strongly about, or just attend meetings as an ordinary member?

No easy answer as it depends on the nature of the association, the time required vs the time at my disposal and people I would be working with. Usually I prefer being an ordinary member but somehow end up on the board anyway  so I guess deep within I at least do not mind ;). That's the answer, I think.
Would you rather be a driver or a passenger on a road trip?

Passenger, definitely. These days, I'd have to be anyway. I was a terrible driver from my teens on, and many people are very lucky I didn't run into them. The last time my licence was up for its five-year renewal, I didn't bother. Just let it lapse. Sold my car. Now I take taxis everywhere, unless someone is giving me a ride.

Would you rather own a vacation beach cottage on a shore, or a ski cabin in the mountains?
