she'd need to get 'head-phone' hair extensions for that look. She doesn't currently have enough hair for that. Or does any one? Two full hair buns to warm your ears in the coldness of space.

The Canadian crowd at SC this weekend just wanted to clap along to any beat that came, even if it was for 5 seconds
The crowd was great, and I had so much fun! So glad I went. Of course the crowd cheered the loudest for the Canadians. Why wouldn't they?! And they had a lot to cheer for! Thank you for a great weekend, awesome neighbor to the north!

My opinion, as always, could be long winded but I'll spare you and be brief:
1. My favourite part was watching the competition with the folks from GS in the threads. Even though some of you are...unique it was loads of fun. Always nice to hear opinions that both agree with mine and are the polar opposite of mine and everything in between. Short answer: It was fun and I laughed a lot.
2. My Dog for still loving me even though I had the figure skating on all weekend. He hates the TV.
3. Paul Poirier's pornstashe/fro might be my favourite look of the year, followed closely by black leisure suit Elvis.
*The only way Paul might be defeated is if the black leisure suit becomes a white one. Then we might have a competition.
Forgot to say how much I enjoyed watch Ice Dance on the Russian feed. Didn't understand a word, didn't matter at all to me. Loved the commercials and the way they said "Football". Made me smile everytime. Also reminded me how much Russia is on my bucket list right after Paris.

I'm just going to name my favorite programs from each discipline based on the overall feeling I got from watching them:
Ladies:
SP: Kaetlyn. WOW. So much command and I looooove that Edith Piaf song.
LP: I think Satoko's program is the most entertaining to me. She just really needs to jump like 4 inches higher.
Men:
SP: Love Patrick's program Just land that damn 3A consistently please.
LP: I might also have to say Patrick (just such a pretty skater), but I didn't watch too many other programs. He also messed up a lot...
Pairs:
SP: I really liked the Chinese pair. Sui and Han better watch out if this new pair skates cleanly.
LP: Didn't watch.....
Dance:
SP: It's a tie between Virtue/Moir and Gilles/Poirier. Both were unique and really fun.
LP: Hands down Gilles/Poirier. Talk about a freaking show stopper. Like damn that performance captivated me.

in figure skating, in certain media ... not even everywhere... I had no clue Canadians were demonized endlessly in FS before lurking at FS forums...
i also thought most skaters were loved
now, accordingly to this thread, Skate Canada is rigged... especially Ice Dance, where the Tech Controller was ... erm... American and gave the Americans highest levels... oh well.
I think some people just can't stand how lighthearted and fun Canadians are. Like, if we can't be miserable, then they are going to try to hate on us until we are.

Yes but that just doesn't work, because he is still spinning/moving. This section of the music really needs closure and then lilting movement afterward. The donut itself isn't a good move to the music either, with the clunky way he has to drop down and catch the foot, nor do I think the showy Beillmann makes much sense here.

Best: Zhenya and Kaetlyn. They made it worth watching the entire thing. Satoko too.
Disappointment: Tessa and Scott. Basically I don't want to see them anymore. I turned completely against them. Scott was obnoxious in kiss/cry - you could see it only on live feed on IN. They are overhyped, overrated, should have lost to C/B. There is completely nothing that separates them from the common crowd. Completely overrated and I hope they will lose to the Shibs and P/C. And maybe to other teams too..

That's the point why. You should earn you spot. It's wrong when you come and get free stuff just for showing up. You must earn your position from the bottom.

For those of you who heard boos, can you also tell me if you heard the baby in the crowd? Or the toddler sitting near the camera? Or even the extremely loud (and somewhat disruptive) fans of US skaters during practices? No? Fact is, the crowd was mostly Japanese and Canadian. Everyone politely clapped for all the skaters. Gave standing ovations to the Canadians and some others, like Rika Hongo's clean SP and Misha Ge's stunning FS. They also totally enjoyed Samohin, the great entertainer that he was. There were conversations after interesting skates, like Evgenia's FS and Gillles/Poirier's FD. No one in the crowd booed any skater, though there was some surprise after Chock/Bates' marks. Mostly from people who didn't understand WTH it was and how it scored that high. Same thing happened with Satoko's FS marks, because they thought she was great. There is no TES counter on display at the rink so the crowd was responding to marks without any idea of what to really expect.

To be perfectly honest, Scott looks a bit out of shape physically. The basics are there, the personality is there, and their connection/musicality remains great, but he's got some extra weight on his frame that needs to be trimmed in order to make everything crisper. When you look at how perfectly in shape someone like Cizeron is and how great of a form that displays on the ice and what it allows him to do with his body...yeah, Scott needs to put more work in at the gym to compete with it. Tessa's new costume for the SD was also unflattering, making her midsection looker bigger. The dress at Autumn Classic was better.
