Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Anyone else thinking it's interesting how much of the graphics and merchandise are in English? I wonder if there's any plans on mass marketing Ciontu. I would love a Bluray with subtitles.

It seems the fans are sending their request of selling DVD or BR on twitter with hashtag #CiONTU. I hope it will come true, with subtitles :)

While watching the show that's airing before Continues, Mitsuki Sumoto's program was airing, and before that he showed off his collection of guess what?
Many, many of Yuzu's clear-files. His room is full of Yuzu posters, and his favorite program of Yuzu's is Romeo and Juliet no.1
It is his goal to compete with Yuzu in Seniors.

Yuzu's Notte Stelata from Rostelecom 2017 has just aired, and now GPF 2017 Nathan's up.

I'm a techno moron so I haven't been able to watch the show as a whole but have watched most of it through youtube videos. I thought I'd be better off waiting for translations anyway but I still find myself staring at videos of Yuzuru talking even though I only have a vague idea of what they're saying through fan translations on the forums.

It's actually really common to see English in titles and even song lyrics for Asian movies and music, so I don't think much of Continues with Wings being in English. It seems a lot of the ice shows in both Japan and Korea have English names, too.

I'd also love a bluray of all 3 shows! I was really entertained watching the show for the full 3 hours, the whole cast had a great rapport (didn't realize Minoru Sano was so funny either). I'm also hoping we get another documentary with Yuzu's performances from this past quad.

But did I see on twitter that they are not shipping overseas as of now? I'm pretty sad about that, I really want one of the shirts.

*waves hello*

I've had success using proxy services for buying things in Japan. There are several respectable businesses that will buy items for you and then ship them to you. Obviously this ups the price, since there are fees for ordering, handling, and then shipping the item overseas. One place I've used before is White Rabbit Express: https://www.whiterabbitexpress.com/en/

I used them to buy the YOI Blu-Rays (with Kenji Miyamoto's skating choreography) which could not be ordered from overseas addresses, and to bid on a couple items listed on the Yahoo Japan auction sites. So not an inexpensive order! WRE is upfront about the added fees and the chat support service helped me figure things out on what became a complex order. There were some fragile and delicate items that survived the journey because of the packing.

There are other sites, in case you want to shop around, but always make sure to get a quote on the fees and shipping options. Good luck!

Between now and May we have so many events but...do we think Yuzu might attend the first few Fantasy on Ice shows as well as the ones in July?

It depends on how much rehabilitation he'll need to do post-parade and how it'll go, as well as weighing the time the shows take against his training/rehab. I think he may only do FaOI in mid-late June (starting from Kobe?), if any.

I agree with Xeira once rehabilitation is over, I think he will concentrate in getting his jumping form back. I will also like him to take time and do that travel with his family...

My personal impression of three days CWW: brilliant. Just brilliant from start to finish.
Very well structured and organized. There was a concept behind this show (unlike many others I've seen). The short intro clips of all guests and their relationship with Yuzu, the interviews, programmes, challenges... everything was spot on. :clapper:

If there's one thing I could really criticize: Camera work... :palmf:
It's great to see the skater's shadow (very aesthetic), but I want to see the skater himself in the first place. Especially the cuts during Yuzu's spins drove me up the wall. He did three Biellmann spins - I can only guess how nice they were, because everything I could see was one blade+boot, one glove and 25% of one leg. Pls put some duct tape on the camera's zoom function next time

I'll give them a semi-pass on the camera work this time as it was shot live in real-time and Yuzu and some of the others skated to different programs each show. That said, I have high hopes they'll be able to piece better camera angles together for the broadcasts in May - as much as Plushenko is dynamic seeing only the back of his head during Tango Amore is a bit weird.

I saw funny tweet by Plushenko's fan saying to TV Asahi, "Please fix the camera work of Plushenko's programs when you broadcast next time! If you don't know what I am talking about, ask Yuzuru since he is the top of Plu-ota (Plushenko otaku)."

Plu-ota - that’s fantastic!

I hope we get better angles of the opening too! I noticed H&L but I’m wondering if there was something else we missed out on besides Jeff doing Ballade and Shae doing Seimei.
