Yuzuru Hanyu: 2021-22

Really? Can you point me? I am a bit out of the loop it seems.
Anyhow, I think Yuzuru will not return to Canada, and if he keeps competing, he'll want to stay in his beloved Japan. I wonder how long he'll continue on his own, but experienced though he is, I would like for him to find a coach, even if just for emotional support by the boards (similar to Kazuki and his coach).
I read yesterday that his 4A was not ratified in the end, which means more incentive for him to go to WC this year, I guess?
His 4A was certified, not ratified.
To be ratified a jump must be fully rotated or q (well, we know it was q but it was called <) and receive a positive GOE, which of course excludes a fall.
To be certified a jump can be < but not << and GOEs don't matter.
So Yuzuru Hanyu is officially the first skater to land a 4A but the jump is not ratified (yet).

Regarding his coaches, I hope the link works, I put it under spoiler because it's ugly, I didn't keep the tweet with Tracy Wilson's reaction.

It looks like this Tweet was deleted but many people kept screen saves from all this.

Thanks for the explanation! I guess I was confusing ratified with certified.
The tweet is unavailable, but if you say it's nasty, I don't think I really want to see it. I just hope it's not the kind of stuff some other coaches ill-famously publish about their students who leave. -_-

In some way it is worse because of the backstabbing and backhand nature of it and then deleting it. And Hanyu hasn't left his coach or anything.

Anyways petty people can continue to be petty, Hanyu is living his good life and has lots of commercial activities coming up

I think it's the same pattern for Yuzuru like it was with Kurakova - first BO was her coach only on paper, but not in the KnC and by the boards, then she left for real. I think the same is happening here, only it hasn't been made public yet. But, I have literally zero evidence, it's just something I think privately.

I would really love for Yuzuru to perform in shows when he retires. I think his shows would be sold out globally if he decided to tour, because he's popular around the world. I think there are many like me who haven't seen him skate live yet, but would love to.

For some reason, watching it from a distance and seeing the entire ice with this type of lighting brings about a sense of peace. Or maybe it's just me.

His interpretation at practice is usually less intense but no less thoughtful. I too feel a sense of peace.

Since Twitter videos are disappearing right and left from our posts, perhaps this will last longer.

Oh, thank you! I had read this parallel but in a video it's even more convincing.
In Beijing he looked quite dejected before learning his jump had been certified, because he thought that both his goals (4A and Gold) had been missed, and learning that one of his objectives had been partly reached was such a relief. In Sochi, he had had a fall in the Free, and a wrong invalidation of a combo, he thought he had missed Gold, yet he had not.

These photos are gorgeous. Do you know if they were shot the same day as Gum for the Game, or if they are new?
