2015 Worlds Ladies Free Skate March 28

thanks! I got it from all the kind answers… i am not a fan of repeating the same exact trick :) but whatever… i am also not a fan of the 3? or 2A +1L+3S combo… but code of points is code of points :)
I'd say it differently, you are allowed to repeat only two kinds of triples, and at least one of them must be in combo. The max amount of 2A in one program is two, but they don't have to be in combo in other to repeat.

Btw, you can do 2A-3T and 3Lo-3T in the same skate, but then you can repeat only T and Lo.

I'm so happy for Liza, what a season for her! And it might even not be over yet! I love her Wikipedia pic too, so fierce and majestatic

I think all 3 US women fought hard tonight and did well. We have our3 spots. Gracie really skated well, Ashley shook off her demons and Polina is gaining experience and proving she belongs in the big leagues. I had a strong feeling Ashley would do well, she was very determined.

Some protocol analysis:

- Gold's "e" on her flip cost her... had it been a clean edge she would probably have bronze

- Wagner got ! calls on both lutzes as expected and UR calls on her 3T and 3S (which is pretty fair)

- Radionova was 6th in the FS!!! -- her 3S was called UR and cost her 2.5 needed for silver

- Hongo got an "e" call on her second lutz but only a ! on the first -- I have no idea how her 3S on her sequence was called UR because it looked like the strongest of the bunch and she had great flow going into it; on the plus side, she did crack 60 PCS for her FS, and a personal best FS of 122

- Edmunds got nailed by URs - on her half-loop, on her 2A (which I thought was UR when I saw it), and on her 3L; would have been a personal best/higher Worlds placement; ! calls on both 3F; but still a strong skate

Ludicrous GOE/PCS:
- Liza got a 0 from one judge on her 3-3, even with a turnout in between; 2 judges gave her opening combo with turnout a +1
- One judge gave Gold 6.75 for TR, one gave Hongo 6.25 for TR, one gave Liza 6.75 for TR
- A judge only gave Hongo's 3F(huge!)+3T a 0 GOE
- Some judge gave Murakami 0 for her 2A which clearly had a bad landing

-

Huh. I actually thought Gracie's flip looked OK, maybe a ! call, but e seems a bit harsh. The change she made with the entrance on the jump seemed to help (in my eyes), but not to Amano, apparently.

Ashley's 3T looked like it could have been UR, but I thought the 3S looked fine. I only saw it once in replay, though. Rika really needs to stop doing two lutzes in her FS; I'm surprised her first one only got a ! call.

 :disapp: Still angry for Rika. She deserved fourth place at least.

I don't consider myself to be biased for Satoko, but I do get surprised when people claim that she is lacking in musicality.

Congrats to Liza! Not her best FS and somewhat overscored especially on PCS, but she is the deserving World Champion. What a great season for her, and it must taste all the sweeter after the rough year she had last year.

Congrats to Ashley and Gracie for redeeming themselves. Too bad they dug themselves into too much of a hole in the SP. One or both could have been on the podium.

And congrats to Alaine and So Youn or keeping two spots for their countries

Also a bad call, given the < and awkward exit off the salchow.

Funny enough, the ONLY 2 skaters to land a clean halfloop-3S sequence was Dasa Grm's and Nicole Schott's 3T-1L-3S.

What a night it has been, all my predictions (other than Liza winning) just flew out the window

Liza deserves the gold, but it wasn't the best skate I've seen from her. Satoko was stiff, jumps were still tiny, with a fall besides, I don't understand the high scores she has been getting. I much prefer Hongo, her jumps were big, I thought she deserved higher TES and should be getting more +GOE, ought to be ahead of Satoko and Gracie.

I highly doubt people are turning away from and not attending figure skating because of Satoko's tiny jumps. :laugh2: In fact....it's almost a miracle that she gets jumps that are so low off the ground to spin three times around. Only one UR today. Maybe we should give her a little  for making the podium at such a young age in such a big event.

Agree. Congratulations to Satoko!! She had stated that she was working on rotations and I guess it worked well.

Gracie should seriously consider incorporating 2A-1L-3F into her program. I've seen youtube of it in practice, and it was spectacular. Most importantly, there was absolutely no question about the edge in the flip. Maybe not having the time to set up and think/concentrate on it will be the fix.

Me too, I like her presentation other than her jumps is one of the strongest, I love her arms, I can understand saying Lena lacks connection to her music but not Satoko

Agreed. The "e" really cost her. It's awful - she actually looked like she was *trying* to stay on the correct edge going into that 2nd lutz.

Still, 6th is great for her for her 1st Worlds -- I think most people predicted that to be the best she could place.
