2015 Worlds Ladies Free Skate March 28

I have a problem with Rad also. Both women look immature.
Nothing wrong with being immature at 16. Yeah, I'd like to see a higher level of skating from pretty much everyone, but that's just the stage we're in at this moment. I'm sure by the time Olympics start, the competition will be on a much higher level.

I think Mao is the one with most changes of returning. I can't see Kostner making a comeback. As for Yuna, I have a feeling that the Korean fed will ask her to return for 2018. Who knows.

isn't kostner suspended because of her doper of a boyfriend anyways?

I don't consider myself a hardcore Satoko fan, but I'm so happy for her silver medal. Last year, who would have thought that she could have achieved this in her first time attending the most important and nerve-racking competition of the year? The odds are stacked against her to win a medal: Not an innate talent (as admitted by her coach), being a shy person, tiny stature, not pretty and mature enough at age 17 for many people here, wrong jump techniques etc. For me, Satoko's silver medal is the most moving example of hard work trumping talent.

Gracie Gold beat Ashley in all big events, except maybe one? US judges need to take note and push the right girl.

Sorry, but I find Elena and Satoko completely lacking in grace & musicality. No artistry. I don't know how they placed 2cd & 3rd. My friend and I were shocked that they scored so high.
This sport is really changing.

I SO agree with this. Neither are anywhere near being complete skaters. It's nice that these girls are coming along. It's quite an achieement. But they are not ladie's champions. When Kwan could jump like crazy they kept her off the podium until she had it all. This was correct.

To tell you the truth I think with so many competitions the judging has become weaker. I think some of the judges just can't see the difference. For the big competitions the judges shold be past winners. It takes one to know one.

Overall standings - Rika Honga and Polina Edmunds were held down I feel (I'd have both placing 2 spots higher), Gracie Gold held WAY up - would have put her 12th in the SP, 5th in the LP, and 7th overall. Really sad that her listless LP can be considered 2nd best at the biggest event of the year. It wasn't even that great technically (and I'm saying this disagreeing with the 'e' call she got in the Flip even; the edge was definitely not 'e' worthy).

 Mainly about Rika. It's sad. Also unexpeted to see Gracie fourth overrall.

I couldn't agree more! Where is CaroLIza fan?!

He's taking a break from the forum. Partly he says he' been spending too much time here. But also it was triggered by an argument someone had with him a few days ago. (IMO, the other person was completely picking a fight for no reason, but in any case, I guess it got to him.) If it was just a matter of too much time spent here, it would have made more sense to be here for worlds and then take a break.

I really wish he had stayed at least to celebrate Liza's victory

He has been keeping up with Worlds btw, just not commenting on the forum. Plus he is working on something else quite a bit & still is involved with the Predictions Game. He hasn't dropped FS completely :)

Gracie isn't my favorite (I hate her programs and am one of her biggest critics), but her speed and quality of movement was really jarring, in a good way, when compared to the ladies the groups that preceded her. She had a 7-triple FS with excellent spins and strong SS compared to most of the field. Basically, I think she's better with a sub-par program than a good portion of competitors, even if their choreo is superior to hers. I don't always enjoy watching her, but I can understand why she scores the way she does, PCS-wise.

For the love of God, she needs to fire Lori Nichol, though.
