I like Voronov , but his one quad combo isn't too hard for Plushy if he will be healthy.. Beat Kovtun will be hard if Kovtun can do his quads..But he was so inconsistent in last season. He never landed in 5 quads in total....

Yes, Plushy needs two solid programs. But the Tango Roxanne won't be one of them. So absolute irrelevant that is it "strange" This is the Tango Roxanne's thousandth version.

It can be a fantastic program we have already discussed why...good music choice for him, nice footwork,etc. We all know, Plushenko wasn't in training camp, didn't work with choreographer. Plus I just read from Mishin, the music can change during the preparation...So, who knows? Plushy will start his preparation in 13 July in Turkey.

This EX version of Roxanne actually has better musical timing on the footwork than the original competition version. (See 1:50 and 2:15; the latter was reminiscent of his 2003-04 footwork.) Love the exit on the 3A--if he can make all his landings that controlled, he could gain TR marks through the exits of his jumps, without needing to incorporate as many "difficult entries."

Strange? How? I find Voronov's beatboxing LP (and I like the guy, and the program) or Kovtun's Bolero SP more "strange" than this. In terms of complexity, it certainly can't compete with the top men in the world (the Yuzuru's and Javi's). But it doesn't compare badly to the programs of the other Russian men. If he skates with one quad, 2-3 3As, and most his triples, the only Russian man I see beating him is a very on Kovtun (unless any of the other guys improve a lot by next year.)

The only strange thing is the bad music cut, because it's a truncated version of his 2011-12 LP. It's too long to be an SP and too short to be an LP. He's not going to use it in competition, and he's not going to use this show version even if he does use the music (again).

I certainly think there's room for criticism and honest opinion in a Fan Fest--I'm on the fence about Carmina Burana myself, and I've voiced discontent about many things (no Snow King in North America, re-using Storm forever, ect.) But I admit, I'm curious about why you participate on this thread? Didn't you say you're not his fan? And your every post about him is (very) negative. Which is okay--I just don't know why you're on his Fan Fest.

As for the Tango Roxanne, I did freak out a bit at that first jump, whenever someone says Plushy did bad I have a worst-case scenario in my head where he falls over everywhere and can't do anything right, but it was all good after that, except he didn't do the "Not safe for work" move, and I was disappointed

I'm really afraid you are right. Plushenko is a man, he has family, he is a strong-willed guy, but Papa Mishin says the final words. Papa Mishin has changed the Romeo and Juliette program (by Miyamoto), too!!! And remember, Plushy said in an interview he has two musics: flamenco and a movie soundtrack music..

With all due respect to the interviewer, it's not like Nagasu is ever going to be Liza's direct rival. They would have done better asking about his work with Max, given that if Plushy's comeback does come off, those two are liable to come head-to-head on more than one occasion and Max will have enough to challenge the King.
