2015-2016 Programs by Discipline

Alexandra Nazarova & Maxim Nikitin UKR

FD Fantasia No. 3 in D- minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; choreo by Sergei Petukhov

Boyang is doing a 4LZ+3T that no other human being has ever done in this universe. I will give him some slack if there is no transitions before that jumping pass, other than that there are plenty of transitions in between all his tech elements, including steps in front his 4T that late in this problem. In terms of skating skills, he certainly can improve and still lacks a lot. Style, could be more polished as well, but he indeed performed a hell out of that program. All this happened at high altitude. Respect!

:agree:

Amazing! Boyang's quads look effortless and he looks very focused ! How old is he now?

 This come from people who always say they value beautiful skating?

By this logic, you're saying if Liza somehow managed to jump 4T, she doesn't need any transition in her programs at all.
And somehow a certain amount of people will always say Liza is terrible as a skater, that she has nothing in between her jumps. And that she has no grace.

Oh Liza at least she is very watchable to my standard.

Next Olys are in 2018 and actually Boyang is landing quads like they were triples. it's very impressive... I'm sure top skaters are taking note of this, Yuzuru Hanyu in first.

Mustn't it be easier to do this at high altitude? I know that it is more physically demanding to do it on high altitude, but the jumps must be easier. Less athmospheric pressure. It is for sprint, long jump and triple jump.

Yes I always highly value quality skating and total package skater, but my comments about Boyang above has nothing contradict my appreciation or standard regarding that. Please read my comments again.

I guess Boyang is about 17 years old?

Don't know how attitude really affects different skaters or different jumping pass. Han seems a bit winded in his SP performance whereas Boyang seems did really well.

BTW, men's FS just finished.
1 闫涵 YAN Han 276.11 181.86=96.86+86.00 3A3T, 4T, 3Lz, /3A, 3Lo, 3Lz2T2T, 3S, 3F clean
2 金博洋JIN Boyang 270.69 172.85=95.65+7.20-1 4Lz so, 4S, 3A/ 4T2T, 4T, 3Lz3T, 3F+SEQ, 3Lo Fell on Spin
:cheer:

EDIT: okay, people seems more excited by Boyang's 4 quads, I will highlight it here.

EDIT: Since Liza is mentioned, I will just go ahead and say it, Liza has no transition into her 3A, but because she has 3A, only a few ladies has ever done it in history, so she was crowned the current Queen of the hill. She like Boyang has some weakness in other aspects of figure skating. But people still highly respect Liza and her current "Queen" status, mostly due to the impact of her 3A.
Boyang has 4Z-3T, No human being has ever done it in competition as good as he does, He has no transition into 4Z-3T like Liza and perhaps less charisma etc. than Liza as well. But he is nowhere near podium up today yet. and far away from the equivalent of Liza's status. And his fans/supporters did not complain at all in any place. we just stated the facts about Boyang's skating and was thrilled by his improvement, think that his achievement deserves some respect at least from me. Gladly, most people here has commented that Boyang has improved quite a bit in other aspects of figure skating as well, besides that 4LZ-3T.

BTW, Yuzuru will certainly take notes, he has being take notes of his competitors (from junior to senior) for a very long time already. Boyang has being on his notebook for quite some time already. LOL

I'm glad Chinese judges are not blind and still place my Hannee first overall.

Liza is a World Champion, Euro champion and GPF champion (and GPs winner too). Liza won almost all of her titles last season without a 3A (and she won GPs at age 14 without 3A too). Her success is not due to one jump alone.
You are wrong, people respect Liza not "mostly" because of "the impact of her 3A". They respect her because of what she has achieved in this sport for a number of years And her will power to overcome the hardships, her consistency.
Liza's technique is also impeccable, arguably the best of any woman in skating history. No edge call whatsoever, no UR issue. Not only are all her jumps of the very highest quality but she has ok skating basics including good stroking and soft knee bend thus give her flow out of her jumps. She is not the best when it comes to SS, surely, but better than average ladies.
The only people who take this "Queen" business seriously are fans of certain other skaters.

i think it might work best for him to use 4lz, 4t-3t, 4t, 4s-2t, 4s, 3A, 3A+1/2l+3s, 3lz looks safer... best for him would be to learn how to do 3l as second jump after 4t lol :)
If he were to do 4lz, 4lz-3t, 4s, 4t, 4t-2t, 3a-2t, 3lz-1/2lo-3s, 3f or something along those lines then it would be ok under ijs. That zayak rule is really annoying...

in any case, i also agree that unfortunately, the program itself isn't fabulous... i love his costume but it's not sufficient to sell me on a tango..he has very little power in his skating other than in his jumps... spins were wobbly and there was not that many interesting transitions... still impressed with his composure and wish he develops his overall skating
