2016 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

The most worst Olympics in history I've ever seen. :disagree: No doubt.

I like London's opening and closing ceremonies the most.

Really? I thought Atlanta was pretty dire. Not USA's proudest moment.

I think no one has yet touched the Sydney Olympics, at least in my lifetime.

Tonight I won't stay up all night. Good luck to the ladies. Hoping for a gold medal for either Satoko or Ashley - as unlikely as it is.

Well, I would love for Ashley to medal. She has done her time and I think she is due a world medal.

It would be nice in a way if skating worked like the Oscars. How else do you explain Al Pacino winning Best Actor for "Scent of a Woman"???????????

So I was really excited for Worlds, got distracted by life, and forgot they were...right now, oops haha. But I am ready for this free skate!

Good luck to the ladies:hap10:. The last two groups is very exciting and I can't wait. :gclap: I'm almost certain Gracie is gonna win. At her hometown and the crowd behind her? No way she's gonna falter:thumbsup:. Evgenia for silver. Her best program is the freeskate. And it's a toss up between Ashley and Anna for the bronze. Hoping for Mirai to be in the top 10:).

When it comes to the Winter Games, Lillehammer is my benchmark.

They certainly had the best 'lighting the torch" ceremony. If I'm ever in a brawl, I want three people by my side: a drag queen, a female pairs skater, and that archer! Together we could Rule The World! Mwahahahahaha

The random tarot generator Knows All! Go for it!

Okay. Copied from my blog.

Chartrand: Two of Swords (Peace): Contradictory characteristics brought together as a means of resolving a conflict. Refusing to be ruled by negative emotions. Strife brought to a close through clarity of mind and restraint of force. Turning a blind eye to the minor infractions of others.

Daleman: Two of Pentacles (Change), when reversed: Imbalance and disharmony as a result of upheaval and transformation. Taking one step forward for every two steps back. Chaos caused by the shifting importance of projects and priorities. Industrious yet unreliable actions. Furious activity producing negligible results.

Li: Page of Wands, when reversed: The dark essence of fire behaving as earth, such as dry wood: The surprising appearance of a new passion or inflammatory news. A trickster who can unexpectedly ignite a dangerous situation. The intensity and childish imagination that can send even the most stable venture spinning wildly out of control. Can represent a person outwardly timid, but harboring unexpected inner fury. May indicate the birth of a child.

Asada: Ten of Pentacles (Wealth): Completion of material prosperity and riches. Freedom from financial anxiety, the security of home, and the enjoyment of family. The passing of inheritance along to children, or the gaining of inheritance from parents.

Hongo: Six of Cups (Pleasure), when reversed: Closing your heart to the simple pleasures of life. Escaping realities by living in the past. Refusal to grow up and embrace the joys of adulthood. Contempt for acts of gentle kindness. May indicate immaturity or sexual insecurities. May indicate the departure of an old friend.

Miyahara: Knight of Cups: The essence of water behaving as fire, such as a rushing river: A passionate romantic, full of charm and beauty, but prone to extremes. Forceful idealism blended with gentle kindness. An eager and intense person, forward with their emotions and tender in their support of others.

Tursynbaeva: Knight of Wands: The essence of fire, such a great conflagration. One filled with vitality and passion for life. A sexy and exciting person, daring in their actions, cocky in their attitude, and utterly without fear. Absolute sincerity, coupled with violent emotions that swing wildly from one extreme to another. Boundless creativity and lust for a change of both pace and place. The rapid approach, or more likely departure, of something that sets your world ablaze. Often suggests travel or escape.

Kuchvalska: Death: A major change or transformation, possibly traumatic and unexpected. Freedom from the shackles of the past. A new beginning. Death coupled with rebirth, usually related to consciousness and lifestyle.

Choi: Four of Pentacles (Power), when reversed: Using your power freely for your own enjoyment and the betterment of others. Coming to grips with progress and using your position to help it along. Finding security and identity someplace other than in the possession of material things. Letting go and encouraging others to find their own path. Being magnanimous and generous with your success.

Park: The Chariot: Victory through might. Advancement through bold action. Change through force. Order established through vigilance. A trying situation mastered by balancing opposing forces against each other. Discipline, individual effort and endurance will turn the tide.

Medvedeva: Seven of Swords (Futility), when reversed: Being trapped in a hopeless situation and unable to withdraw. A feat of daring that is too much for you to handle. Being caught in the middle of a desperate act of cunning or outright deception.

Pogorilaya: Knight of Swords: The essence of air behaving as fire, such as a tornado: A fearless and skillful warrior, unfettered by emotion or material concerns. One able to boldly take on challenges that others consider terrifying or insurmountable. A person who inspires fear and awe through the purity of their purpose and the intensity of their intellect. Speaking frankly, in an outspoken manner, and with great influence. May portend the swift initiation or conclusion of a conflict, through the decisive invocation of force.

Radionova: Four of Wands (Completion): A chance to rest and rejoice, having successfully resolved a matter of great import. The initial success of a business venture or creative project. The blossoming of a friendship or romantic relationship. Conclusions drawn based on hard won experience. Spiritual, material, or emotional rewards for diligent effort. May suggest marriage, childbirth, or a victory celebration.

Gold: The Star: New hopes and splendid revelations of the future. Insight, inspiration, courage and enlightenment of the spiritual self. Body and mind and converging towards the light at the end of a dark time.

Nagasu: Ace of Pentacles, when reversed: The seed of luxury, debauchery, and physical gratification. The seductions of the material world draw you away from an opportunity for stability and comfort. The need to focus on the practical and understand the dynamics of your environment. May represent a gift, document, inheritance, or physical event.

Wagner: The Hanged Man: Pausing to reflect. Surrendering to an experience. Adjusting to new ideas through sacrifice. Opening oneself to intuition and enhanced awareness. Letting go of past patterns and growing beyond them. Inner peace, faith, and serenity.

It did pretty decently for everything else, but it also just spits out random stuff according to its algorithm, so... :slink:

i have no expectation whatsoever for my favourites here. I am a bit defeated by these championships tbh no sure i'll watch.:slink:

I hope that Russian girls will skate so well, that audience and everybody will forget about politics and will clap ok. And the main idea of such events is connection and globalization. Hope it is so!)

This kind of comment really bothers me. I have never seen an "Audience" not clap for a great skater. I have been around a very long time and even if the judges don't agree, the crowd will cheer no matter what the judges think. Irina and Maria BOTH got standing ovations in Canada when I attended Worlds in 2001. Plushy certainly got one, as did Todd and Yags. Skating audiences are comprised of smart people who love skating for it's artistic and athletic beauty and most are completely uninterested in Politics of any kind.

I know that's certainly how I feel. I will always want every skater to have the performance of their lives when they're on a stage this big and I want them ALL to go home happy.
