i mentioned more than one thing here... connection with music, projection with audience, speed which can be reflected in ease and flow and confidence and blade work... there's also posture. Lots of details that makes her look unpolished at times. I say this as I was surprised... I loved her riverdance at worlds and was disappointed when i saw her at ACI

Hm good point with the audience, not something I get with livestream/videos.

Is this Canadian Nationals ?. W/P lead with errors in the Dance & now Kaitlyn is walking the Ladies.....

Both W/P and Kaetlyn connected with the crowds far more than any of their competitors.

Add to that the best speed and (most) elements for both (e.g. Kaetlyn's combo and triple lutz ➤ her landing/running edge speed out of both was faster than the speed many of the ladies had going INTO their jumps!)

And voila ... not so hard to explain really...

Shin Amano seems to be the strictliest Tech caller I ever saw

I may be just joking around here to lighten up the thread but I appreciate a tough tech caller way more than a lenient one. (It's so satisfying idk why)
I also do think certain tech panel peeps need to take a page out of his book.

As long at his calls are consistent and make sense, I agree with you, but Shin Amano used to give some major phantom UR calls to Mao and Kanako in the past, I cannot forgive him for that and I still have nightmares with how only one of Mao's three 3A from 2010 worlds got credit.

I don't understand this program at all. It just does nothing for me. I love the announcer's comment: "Double Axel with the arm aloft... squeeze a little bit more out of the judges"! Her spins really need work, and she seemed slow today (I think she has been sick lately though, so that might explain the lack of speed).
