2017 Four Continents Men SP

meanwhile in Canada.... cold, deserted snow covered planet where the quad was originally discovered, a new crew of young padawans is strong with a radiant force.... so strong that they throw quad loops out of nowhere on the King's incantations, so strong that obrian kenorser has to stop one of them who at 11 y o was caught playing with the lutz species (salchow is too boring for kids nowadays)....some of these padawans will still be developing secretly (no streaming evidence will be leaked) on a parallel bavarian universe while the good old quad kings of canada chan solo (1 quad sp) who is now evolving into chan duo (potentially 2 quad sp) and Kylo'vin Ren'olds (first master of the 2 quad sp) show up at 4cc... the quad is so strong in that land far far north that it has reached the pairs, however, in that instance, the force is greener. other nations are not sure what to do with the 150 year old ice planet, so young, yet so powerful... so every time a sample of the northern power is displayed, the whole golden skate alliance breaks down with accusations towards the strong yet peaceful federation.

You mean seven points? To be fair every nationals over scored their athletes. Shoma got a FS score of 192 with major errors. Kaetlyn scored 138 with two falls. You can't take these scores seriously.
But I do think he will get a PCS of 88 or 89. There's always a jump in PCS when a new senior becomes consistent and another when they become a national champ.

No, I meant 9 and change. Mrs P was talking about the increase in both GOEs and PCS, and I happen to remember the number because I looked at it around Nats time so it's both those combined. Nationals are mostly over-scored, apart from the Korean ones I guess, but it does serve a purpose, to signal further on. We'll see where Nathan lands on the PCS, 88/89 sounds very plausible.

Twitter is buzzing with rumors that Boyang is planning to add 4Lo to his LP, making it 5 quads, 2 3As and a 3Lz. The Quad Wars saga continues...

He hasn't land his four quad program clean yet this season. To introduce a 4Lo this late in th season is a bad idea. I know he doesn't want to get left behind, but I wish he repeated his 4Lz or 4S instead. But I hope it's just rumors. He needs to place strong for world so he can have a good start for next year.

gulp.... do it do it do it do it....

The thing about PCS is... Nathen will now be getting the sort of PCS reserved for USA #1... it will be interesting to see how this can affect Jason's PCS internationally.

For what he actually does in his LP, that still sounds way too high for me... :slink:

And I hope those rumors regarding Boyang are false... he worked so hard on the PCS side of his Skating and has become so much more enjoyable to watch. You can't be underscored in BV, so I'd get why, but still...

:drama:Mixed feeling. He worked quite hard on improving his component score this season, though not going well as expected. Adding a new quad could be translated to less GOE, low speed, minimum transition, and thus hurts his PCS furthermore under increasing risk of bombing the program technically. Wish him good luck:hap85:

Jason will be fine. he is a golden child and has wonderful pcs/skating skills. I really dislike the current scoring system. This means if Hanyu skates well he will only be ahead by maybe 5 to 7 pts on pcs and poor Chan maybe 6 to 8. These hardly seems fair, just or proper. But I guess that's the system. Its not that Chen is that bad. That being said with the current system I would say he has a decent shot after Hanyu for gold at worlds at the olympics. Unless, he gets "Namized" where he sprouts an incredible amount in one year which is unlikely.

4CC time to experiment.

Doesn't sound like it's just a rumour to me: https://twitter.com/rockerskating/status/830024563757023233

Not sure how it'll go though, since like frida80 said, he hasn't been clean this season

Sneak peek from an assistant coach: Boyang Jin upgrades his free skate layout to 4Lz3T, 4S, 4Lo, 4T, 4T2T, 3A1Lo3S, 3A, 3Lz. 4CC is coming~

BV can still be increased by doing 3A1Lo3F and move 3T to tag on 3Lz in second half.

Oh my. He's insane :jaw: But I guess he doesn't want Nathan to be crowned the quad king :handw: This adds lots of excitement to the competition:cool2:

Sad D10 dropped out! He was such a wildcard and added excitement too!

Didn't I already clue everybody in? :)

This is the exact contrast against the Euro where it was a weak field of Men except for Javi the easy winner. Here it's deep, tough, quads filled, and unpredictable, with all the top Men but for the Euro Champ. IOW, exciting.

Will Patrick include a 4S in his SP or will he rather go for two clean programs? How will Yuzuru do after a long break and will he try a new quad? Will D10 show up or will he send one of his doubles? Who will land 5 clean quads in the LP, Boyang or Nathan? Who will land the most quads in total? Will Shoma win his first medal outside of the GP events? Will Han retain his Bronze medal the fourth time? Will the well loved non medal contenders delight and charm their fans all over again?

There will be triumphs and drama.

14 pages!

Of the questions I asked in my first post here, (also first post this page), D10 has responded - it'll be D0 at this 4CC. Boyang has confirmed his 5 quad program. Now if Patrick and/or Yuzuru made an announcement re my questions, we'd have at least 20 more pages before the event!
