Patrick Chan

it took me 4 years to have the courage to leave...

I can see why... :console:

It will be a treat for the Japanese fans to see Patrick at NHK. Many already noticed his flowing, unparalleled skating skills and praised him during this past season. Go Patrick!

---------------------------

FYI all,

A fan had requested a transcript of the CSOI Vancouver interview here. I had already transcribed the parts of the interview with Patrick in it here:

Just scroll down the blog post and you'll see it. It doesn't include Kurt's comments - just Patrick's dialogue with the reporter.

I will be traveling and I'll update the blog when I get back.

You all have a great weekend! :thank:

in the last few days, the fan fests have been buzzing with a lot of posts... why? because of GP assignments etc...

we are relatively quiet on this ;) and really folks, that pleases me so much! Perhaps it is because we just trust Patrick to skate well and to his abilities. Perhaps it is because we don't care so much about where he competes and against whom because ultimately, we know that Patrick is challenging only one person : himself and competing against one person : himself... so he can better himself.

We also know that no matter what happens in the fall, has no bearing on the results of the Olympics.

As we are headed to Patrick's round 3 of the games.. (wow... what an amazing longevity in that sport for singles!!!!) we know that he has been improving non stop since his return and we simply await for the moment he gets off the ice with his huge and legendary smile.

I hope Patrick is working hard, is healthy and having fun with his new programs. We are looking forward to seeing him at Autumn Classic (just wishful thinking here LOL) but wherever he decides to go, I hope he does do a challenger before the GPs.. it helped him tremendously last year.

and for some of you, enjoying the off season, who may be lurking from time to time, summer is so short : make the most out of it!!!

I am feeling the peace of this thread and it makes me very happy.

People in this fest has got the Chan fan zen down pat. :)
:agree: I am beyond caring about Patrick's results. I will be happy with whatever he does well and let the rest go. I didn't think he would still be competing, so every competition is a gift now. Although, I will admit, most times he skated MTK, it did not feel like a gift. MTK felt more like, "I'll deal with this because it's Patrick and I hope he can find a way to skate clean" (which he did only once). Blackbird he did clean only twice, but I liked the program and costume a lot more so it was easier to handle the mistakes.

Also, I have a fun avatar for the offseason - thanks BBH, from a few pages back!!! :)

Skatingfan4ever's decision to change avatars for the off season inspired me to change mine too. I know Patrick will be working hard in preparation for the new season but I hope he takes the time to have fun too. Enjoy the summer everyone!!!

Very nice avatars from SKATINGFAN4EVER and BLUEBERRYHILL :agree: . Both avatars show the fun, charm and happy side of Patrick :yahoo:.

As long as you have the picture saved somewhere on your computer, you can always go back to it later. I may go back to the northern lights at some point because I love it.

Your avatar is very unique :love::love:.

The images of playful Pchiddy, unicorn, the green, rainbow all set perfectly in a colorful background. This brilliant avatar catches my eyes every time I sign in GS :agree:.

It's a good suggestion from SKATINGFAN4EVER, save it in your computer and you could change it back anytime .

Yes, indeed. Every time he competes, it's a gift. And I love your avatar by BBH!

Haha, very creative! I look forward to seeing more of your creations this summer!

Speaking of summer, I am back from my short trip, and guess what I got as a souvenir? Click below:

I kid you not that this was the LAST one available in that area! I called around and they held this one at the register for me. Yes, we drove on the QEW to get it. I wanted to go to Flat Rock Cellars to get a second one but didn't have time, as I had to catch my flight. Anyway, it's safely home with me now. :):):)

VIVLEY, Welcome back! :)

Wow! It's so nice you had a nice trip plus 2 bottles of Patrick's ice wine for souvenir. Have you open a bottle? Please tell us how does it taste like? ;)

Aw, thanks, Happylife! Sorry for the confusion - I was only able to get 1 bottle of the icewine. The LCBOs near Niagara Falls only had one left (I had hoped to buy two). I would have had to go to Flat Rock Cellars to get another one. It would have only been another 20 minute drive from the LCBO where I got this bottle but I had to get back to the airport to catch my flight home.

So... mostly likely I won't be opening this bottle until... Patrick wins the Olympics!

I apologize for my mistake. I guess I was too excited when I seeing 2 pictures of the icewine in the link of your post.

Yes, It's a very good idea! Open this rare bottle of Patrick Chan icewine from your trip to celebrate Patrick' Olympics winning. :yahoo: .

meh.. you still need two bottles...

1) for gold in team event
2) for Patrick winning the singles ;)

I completely agree with you :agree: :agree:.

You're definitely right, we need two bottles of Patrick Chan icewine for the Olympics winning celebrations! :clapper: :).
