Patrick Chan

I couldn't agree more. :agree::agree::agree:
No no no! Black Bird loves blueberries so a blueberryhill should be a favorite place for the black bird to visit, enjoy and be nourished. It offers so much and just may be the best home for Black Bird. Stay with us as blueberryhill.

sorry for the off topic blueberryhill... but look what i found.. no wonder i am not finding much work these days... people just can learn how to play blueberryhill from a 13 minutes video :)

omg... and he is sliding (bad technique... and the other dude says.. oh and you are sliding LOL)

and now he messes up LOL
I chose the username blueberryhill because I kept having the line "I found my thrill on blueberryhill" run through my head when I was signing up on gs.
I wonder if Patrick will skate to "Blueberry Hill" next year? ;)

As for farmer bill :laugh2: ... a nuisance turning out to be a blessing in disguise. "cackle, cackle!!!"

oh and by the way.... i guess i do belong to the crazy animals... don't i have a unicorn on my avatar? so pure.... so magical... that's me :slink:
Yes you are one of us animals. I'm the go to with these kind if decisions and it's been decided. I've put my mark of approval on it.

Is it time to change my username??? :scard7:

Not at all! You're a green hill of strength that the Blackbird likes to rest on! :agree:

Aww... Such a meditative place...:)

-----------------------

To the old-time fans here, do you remember Patrick throwing the first pitch at a Toronto Blue Jays game in 2012?

Look at what I found on eBay:

If this is authentic, it would be quite rare, indeed!

i am not so much into baseball... i'd prefer spending my money on an autographed ice wine bottle ;) but i admit... it's pretty cool :)

might as well share this again in case some need an easy way ;)

with all this blackbird talk... here is eurosport and i don't think i had seen it with these guys because it's usually muted ( i had watched it live and on cbc)

Ic3 Rabbit, Violet Bliss, 4everchan, skatingfan4ever, vivley, happylife, and the rest of the people on this thread, thank you so much for all your warm welcome, I feel at home already

You guys are just as friendly and humble as Patrick is, so i guess the saying is true that fans emulate some personalities of their idols. How i wish there were more fans of Patrick in my area but sadly, it's only me so far.

Also since we're in the topic of blackbird(?), which competition do you think he skated to it best? For me it was definitely at this year's worlds.

yes ;) you are correct, we are just as fabulous as Patrick ;) kidding aside, i do think, from reading many threads on here that we are a very special bunch of fans. Many only posts in this particular thread. Now, that you have met vivley, you will want to visit her blog where you can get so many pictures, interviews, videos. I think what I love the most about this fan fest is the positive energy and the joy that it is filled with now. We are aware that every time Patrick skates, it is a gift, a blessing, we receive.

To answer your question about blackbird : I was at Nationals... saw it live(btw Patrick is even better live...) .. wasn't very touched by it but it was not Patrick's best performance... at WORLDS... omg... i think i wrote a super long post... i was crying like a baby. It was such a wonderful skate. I think Patrick's state of mind at worlds for the SP was very relaxed and it gave him the flexibility and comfort to fly all over the ice.... he was indeed literally flying. A masterpiece.

You talk about your area, if you are okay with this, let us know where you are from! We are always thrilled to see fans from all over the world. Despite some of our exotic names, most of the active fans are from North America. We get the visit of caliente calica (spain) from time to time and from a passionate russian ayara. In the old times there was another fruit from Australia : spikydurian...but she is discrete these days... ;) however, quiet or not, everyone is always welcome to cheer for Patrick, share a laugh or a joke, speculate on his next programs or just swoon (that's my specialty).

I have definitely visited Vivley's blog, and usually grab pictures from there and on her twitter account. Can I just say that i gasped so much in jealousy when Patrick replied to her tweet regarding his number of national titles won. I swear she's just so lucky!! Much love and no hate at all.

Also here's you and probably most of the people here, who probably got to watch Patrick live already, the closest i got was on live stream:laugh: but hopefully someday i'll get to see him live, hopefully while still competing. Also may I ask if you gave him gifts during nationals, and what gift was it?

My area? Well let's just say we naturally have no ice here, and figure skating is a sport that is slightly getting more and more popular thanks to an anime, and our country's representative who was the first in our country to make it to the winter olympics in Sochi. Maybe you can take a guess?

my first thought was Kahzakstan then i thought... nah... first medal but I am sure they have sent someone before and then i thought about Martinez who actually is a fan of Patrick's if I recall some pictures!!!! (i really like him btw!!!)

I didn't bring any gifts at the competitions... maybe I am wrong but I feel that skaters don't need to get burden with more toys every time ;) but if I were to give someone a gift it would have to be personal... like for Patrick, a CD made of music i want him to skate on... and a detailed explanation of why he should listen to me ;) hehe

If you do get a chance to watch skating live, the way i would describe Patrick compared to the others...
1) he is so smooth and fast....
2) all his positions, spins, jumping in the air, during steps, everything is balanced, extended, gorgeous lines, he cared for every single details and he looks good from every angle... (many skaters are tilted in the air or not extended fully, or hunched back or leaning.... looking down to the ice... etc)
3) in the intricate footwork, on tv we think wow... but then live, we see that he is carving his way in the ice in multiple directions, always turning, he never just goes in straight lines with easy steps, he is always wandering around the ice and it creates this gorgeous effect you described yourself as poetry on edges.

i hadn't seen patrick live until national and was mesmerized.... i hope everyone gets this chance one day.

Thank you! :yay:

Very few get that "mark of approval" without other "conditions" lol, so I'm glad to see you are honored to have it. ;) :p
