Actually, its both Canada and Russia on all this lumberjack, polar bears and blablabla thing

Ok, first group:
Marin was really great, an amazing comeback after the SP that totally demonstrated her potential. Very very underscored in terms of PCS, most of all in SS
Alaine and Larkin were really painful to watch, still Alaine managed to get higher PCS than Kailani; I didn't get it from the judges
Laurine was energetic as usual, love personality! I preferred last year's FS though
Ashley's skate was a little bit underwhelming: the jumps are not totally there, and most of all today the performance was not as engaging and amazing as usual, I really hope she will be better throughout the season. Overscored in PCS compared to Marin

I'm actually not concerned about Ashley for the rest of the season. She is a heck of a performer normally but both of her programs here had very low energy levels. Who knows if it's start of the season blues, or the repetition of the programs, or an illness, or whatever. She has so much more spark and spunk and she held back big time at this competition.

I hope so. Really curious why she was holding back. And Raf seemed like he knew she would not do well. I'm sure he is working on higher jumps for her, it's just too bad she didn't have better tech lessons in her younger years.
