I'm just happy we finally have a consistent skater from the US. Bradie has been outstanding this season and this is the season that matters the most. I hope the standings stay the same except Mariah and Angela switching places

Karen is really fast and does have an intricate program. I'm not all that worked up about her scores- I'm not really surprised they were generous with the defending champion. It's some of the other scores that have me scratching my head but I gave up on trying to figure out PCS a long time ago.

Bradie's GOE protocol is *absurd*. +1.8 for her 3Lz+3T. That's a Yuna quality lutz-toe GOE. The rest are all +2 scores =/

Well Ashley is in the same predicament as 2010 and 2014. She needs other skaters to bomb to make the Olympic team.

Everyone ahead of her, except Bradie, is capable of doing that very easily. Bradie has been rock solid in every outing this season.

My thoughts:
--Ashley Wagner: She was hosed. To be honest this shouldn't be much of a surprise--last year she could have easily been placed above Karen for the national title but the judges always seems to be looking for something better than what she provides. She is in countless promos and marketing materials for the Games. What will happen if she doesn't pull up to third? I don't see them bumping Mirai or Karen...
--Bradie: Boring as molasses but she rotates. Our new National Champion.
--Karen: This program was better last year.
--Mirai: This would have been 10 points lower on the international level. At least her PCS marks were correct.

--Starr Andrews: YES! Excited to see what she does in the penultimate group on Friday.

True but lowering her PCS nationally when she had one of her best SPs of the season, while inflating everyone else's compared to their SBs... doesn't smell right.

Judge 4 slammed a lot of the skaters' TR, including Mirai and Ashley. I cannot disagree.

Very disappointed. As compared to the bloodbath of the Japanese Nationals, well, Japan really deserves one more Olympic spot than the American ladies. This competition is just...sigh.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I'm so sick of hearing the BS of Ashley being a fighter for the long program maybe if she skated a good short program instead of getting out there shaking her butt and land her jumps she would be in a better position after the short program her last two International metals have been because the skaters above her faltered

can people seriously STOP this

this is NATIONALS (Bradie isn't the only one who benefited even if you want to believe that) plus scoring in general changes from year to year. The scores are only going up across the board, stop looking comparing with the past

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Moulin Rouge on Friday night.

The judges had better go gaga for La La Land. Or Ashley's probably headed to a pre-Olympic retirement from competitive skating. For the last two years, the USFSA seems to really be sending Ashley a message that they're done propping her up.

She has not been skating recently like someone who deserves to be propped up. Her skating leaves no room for error, and she has been 2 footing or UR on a regular basis. So-so spins.

I think it was a huge mistake not to do summer comps.
