Watching Ashley again, I don't think that program was a bad as the placement indicated.

I didn't either and neither did Tara. She thought the presentation was marked too low. I must say Ashley did get herself in great shape and her spins were definitely faster than before.

I was wondering what the official reason for withdrawing was, too. If I were to speculate, I doubt she ever planned to skate her free skate. She knew she couldn't do the FS competitively, but she wanted to skate in her hometown and be in the spotlight once more, so she practiced only her SP and skated within her limits and doesn't embarrass herself in the FS.

My guess was her foot. She didn’t attempt a 3F or 3Lz all week. She proved her case. She’s still a competitor. She just needs more time to get the jumps.

I just went to the Edea booth to take a look and these skates are even uglier and boxier in person. They must be super comfy since they are so popular

They are! I got my first pair almost 9 years ago, and I never looked back. I don’t think all of them are ugly though, just the Ice Flys and Pianos.

The Japanese respect was earlier competitors. They want to show just tuned in audience who the top four are so far and their FS. Another reason I love Japanese fandom. It’s not just about the best but the entire competition.

It still blows me away their streaming the entire US competition, while we’re only broadcasting the last two groups.
