You really are living in a sitcom, aren't you? Is there a nosy/creepy neighbour around?
Or a sassy one who gets the best jokes every episode?

Yep. With SP, a clean 3A could truly tip the scales. On the other hand, in the FS it gets diluted by all the other potential mistakes. When we also consider Bradie's consistency and how that's far more useful in the FS where skaters will on average make more mistakes, I find this choice puzzling.
To be honest, several countries have made SP - FS choices for ladies that I've completely disagreed with(Japan, USA are obvious ones).

The most questionable pick to me goes to the Russians in pairs. Even if they were projected to be 2nd instead of 3rd, T/M would have gained them a point vs losing a point. I'd presume that it was their choice to focus on the individual, though, and that's certainly their right..
I don't think T/M would have wanted as the individual competition is too soon. The initial plan was that S/K will skate the free and basically Z/E replaced them.I feel like had Kolyada done better in the SP, T\M would've skated the free
Not sure if it's a "focus on the individual event" decision alone
You have to factor in the adrenaline of competing twice back to back (at the most pressure-filled competition of them all), and being surrounded by so many people including media every day from morning until night, without a lot of time to decompress. I don't think anyone is able to just chill and relax completely before their events are over. There's also more risk of injury if you do both events.
Where is 4everchan these days?
the medal is for skaters not for federation
today skate Canada shown they are not willing to support anyone but the national champions, again..
My heart really goes out for the #2 Canadian skaters who were told today by their federation that they are not worthy to represent their country, that they don't trust them and don't support them

That's fair enough - Playing it safe vs trying to score as high as possible. I guess it depends on the ultimate goal.I'm a risk averse person so I think about downsides. I think Bradie was much less likely to have a meltdown or under rotations. The worst you can do in the free is 5th but in the short it's 10th. I'm thus glad they went with Bradie and to be honest I wouldn't have minded them keeping Bradie in and swapping out the Shibs.
It's odd to think about WeaPo doing the FD (or SD)... Canada wants gold and V/M are a lock for 1st unless they forget how to skate tbh.
I feel for WeaPo these days though. I never truly realized how much you can be in someone else's shadow until V/M were named flagbearer. That shadow was just too big this time :/
The programs do not always define the skills difference... Tango FD was one of my favourite in the whole 2010-2014 quad too.I will still go back and watch Je Suis Malade rather than V/M's FD.
