She mentioned once that she doesn't really like working with male skaters but would like to try with Hanyu. I will try to find it
I don't 100% believe Eteri's words.
But IF Evgenia really said that about Alina, whether she said it privately or not, I don't think you can make any valid excuses for it.
Maybe I don't get it because I'm the type of person who internalizes failure.
I think it'd be acceptable to an extent if she blamed her coach for losing the OGM but it's unfair and childish to take it on Alina, especially since she's 3 years younger. The girl just worked hard and did her best in the same training environment and circumstances, and she deserved that OGM.
I'm indifferent about the two women involved, but I just wish none of this mess will affect Brian, his students or the other Eteri girls negatively.

You realise going to train under a foreign coach isn't a betrayal of the Motherland, right? Jeez you people... she still can love her country while training elsewhere. A lot of skaters do that.
I agree - the federation has plenty of people to choose from to allocate Zhenya's PCS and GOE inflation. Maybe Zhenya's flutz will finally be called.

I remember Vladimir Samoilov who came to Eteri's group after Yulia had already left talking in an interview about Yulia's poor work ethic etc. This is obviously the kind of atmosphere that is created where every student who has left is talked about as a lazy spoiled brat. I think each successive student there thinks this is never going to happen to them since they are not lazy and spoiled like all those other kids, they will be fine and Eteri will never ever turn against them.

The difference is that Medvedeva isn’t on national tv saying bad things about Eteri. We shall see tomorrow what she chooses to do. I hope she takes the high road and doesn’t say a bad word about Eteri

I feel totally disappointed in this woman. Like everyone, I thought it was something spartan, but I respected it because Zhenya only had praise for her, Zhenya always defended her and spoke well about her coach, and that was the only reason why I did not "worry" about possible abuse . I also believed her little story that Yulia's mother was the one responsible for their separation.NOW,I DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT THIS WOMAN SAYS. Everything she says is contradictory, and this has already happened many times. Polina Shelepen, Yulia, Aidan, Voronov, Sima and now Zhenya Polina T. She should simply assume that she is not interested in training seniors, and stop doing these girlish tantrums when seniors look for better alternatives.
Eteri's comments make no sense if we look at Evgenia's behavior. In the interview with Yagudìn, she is pressured to say that the rivalry affects her, and you can see Zhenya's gaze, her movements, her voice: she sincerely said, that if you lost, it's because you yourself did something wrong. Evgenia blamed herself and nobody else.
That "capture" by God, if that is what the user showed, you can see at a distance that it is photoshop. In addition, the body of the phone in that image is drawn. I had an ex-boyfriend designer and I saw him many times trick things with Photoshop. Too easy.
Eteri tries desperately to be like the poor victim throwing mud at the only person who defended her and followed blindly. And she's so vile that she uses Alina. I don't think Zhenya said that about her, I think Eteri could have said it.
I don't even think that Eteri does this because she is "hurt", I think she only does it because of her evident Ego. To be left for Orser must be a cold water valde.
That Zhenya was her obvious favorite pffff,please, Zhenya and Sima only managed to get a little of her attention in 2014/2015 when Yulia was already weakening. In the documentary Evgenia she clearly says that she began to understand Eteri only 2 years ago. I think Eteri is so egotistical and manipulative, that she only wanted Zhenya to win the gold to further increase her own prestige as a coach. Because if the double world champion won, wow, it would be incredible for her, so they would stop saying that she only wins pre-pubescent girls.
I hope that Alina also changes her coach, Eteri must be angry and maybe the training will be hell, and as she has the maturity of a 13-year-old girl, maybe she will poison her head with lies. Alina, please, run to Plushenko!
P.S: Zhenya can sue her for insults and slander, psychological abuse

Some people here must be saints or never participated in pressure cooker environment, the way they put on a holier-than-thou attitude and expect these athletes in a so and so way.
If I gave up my entire childhood and slaved away on a diet for a friggin' Olympic gold medal and saw my teammate snatch it away from me in the last second, making one remark would be the last thing I'd do. I would go snatch both Eteri and Zagitova's weaves off.

I've participated in that thread and well, Nanami Abe & Yuzuru were such a dream team, it was hard to see them part. I don't know if I've ever seen Eteri crying tears of joy for her students. But then she has a bunch of them at the highest level. Very different circumstances.

On the other hand I am not sure Russian fed will look at Eteri with a warmer eyes now that there has been a tendency for students who turn adults deciding on leaving Eteri. That group is like a kindergarten right now with the oldest just turned 16.
I notice you refer to Evgenia as a "woman" and the other students as "girls"
If this happens every time a top student leaves eteri, how will the public take her seriously as an "adult".

I hoped Eteri would be more classy but nope - she is still the same witch who tore down Julia, Adian and Ilia (even before he left) in press publicly. And I don't buy whole "after 11 years she can be angry". Eteri is an adult for God's sake! I understand that she can be angry but she should also act like mature person not like 13 yo who was grounded.
I don't believe she didn't know about Evgenia's departure (I believe she said the same thing about Julia) as it was confirmed by Sambo's director before RusFed officially tweeted about it.
About unanswered messages: first of all it isn't the only way to communicate. If somebody was to judge relationship with my mother by number of sent messages one would think we haven't spoken for 5 months. Also some people tend to ignore messages and calls while on vacation (my dad does it) and this kind of screenshots is extremely easy to fake. Even if Evgenia ignored her messages I can't blame her.
I don't really believe what she says about Zhenya's words during Olympics. Just because she spreads hate and nastiness doesn't mean everybody is like that. Even if Evgenia blames Eteri for her "failure" in Korea (again I doubt it) it's natural for people to move on at some point of their lives. She probably decided she won't improve any more under Eteri and needs to try something else and I think it's normal for athlete to do what they think will work the best for them. Also it's double dirty for Eteri to put Alina into this mess and petty personal war she has with almost all her former students.
And it's not like Eteri's students failed to reach their potential - Eteri failed in helping them reach their potential. Adian's career is completely over due to ignored back injury. Julia struggled with eating disorder. I prefer not to think about the effects of teaching 13 yo girls jumping quads. Also she thinks her skaters' failures are 100% their fault without thinking that MAYBE it might be hers.
On one hand I want Zhenya to be classy as she is and to give calm and mature statement about it without putting out fire with gasoline. On the other I want her to show the whole world what kind of person Eteri is and to show her abusive methods so every parent will think twice before sending child to Eteri. Also I hope rumours about Polina leaving Eteri are 100% true. Two accomplished skaters leaving one coach in short time will be the best commentary to the whole situation

An hour, more like.
Yuzuru would have 3Ad his way out of there in an hour. If he'd somehow managed to be convinced to go train there in the first place.
