That's the worst part of all What if Sasha and her parents have seen this utter shambles and decided they want to get out too? What will all the other coaches at Worlds think of Plushy? I've never heard of such a mess...they probably won't even want to be seen with him. The rest of the Russian Team probably won't either.

And the competition threads! How am I supposed to show my face in there? Everyone knows what a big fan I am. They probably think I'm a big bully of teenage girls too.

I just don't understand how this can end well. All the skating fans I follow on Instagram have made their views clear.

It’s quite the opposite. If one skater can come and go at his or her free will without honoring the agreement and disregarding the coaching efforts and financial arrangements the school makes for him or her, what would other skaters feel? Will they follow the suit?The school will be a mess in the that situation.

I don’t think Plushy did anything wrong here. He was the person who got blindsided. I peeked the RL thread earlier of the day and I didn’t find things particularly bad. I just didn’t have the time and energy to go through all the posts though. And remember Aliona won’t be in the worlds so the discussions about her are not supposed to be in the competition thread.

Plus there's the fact Plushy said there were no contracts, in fact he even said they were going to look into having them in the future. Fair enough, but then it all comes out there are contracts and the Academy's legal team are involved. It makes Plushy look like a liar, or like he doesn't even know what's going on in his own school.

Plushy's leading work there is coaching while those commercial activities are in the domain of Yana's, anonymoose. The contract Kostornaya's mother signed is mainly related to the commercial sponsorship.

The girl has returned to where she belongs.

Time to say goodbye to the past.

I'm worried about Mishin's birthday show...what if the crowd turns their backs? What if Mishin doesn't even want Plushy there anymore.

Ohhh Moose, don't worry about such things! Mishin would never do that. He understands the Russian figure skating world and knows that this whole story is just getting blown totally out of proportion. I promise you, in a couple of weeks we will have the latest figure skating drama (who knows what's gonna happen at Worlds) and nobody will talk about the Aliona coaching change anymore.

I think there are two different things to consider.
One thing is Aliona Kostornaia's personal freedom in chosing her coach. I don't understand it is really at stake to this date, because we are so early in the season.
The other thing is the commercial contracts with sponsors. I get the impression that Angels of Plushenko acted as a manager and inserted clauses in case of departure, probably Plushenko himself didn't know because he was probably not involved in their negotiations, and all those things will settle in the next weeks or months, I really don't think there is much to worry about on our side, although it may make a big difference for the parties, and it may somehow worry Alena Kostornaia and her family.
And there may also be an agreement with Sambo 70, we don't know.

It looks like Mishin's Birthday Show was a big success and lots of fun for all involved.

I'm so relieved... maybe I'll have to reconsider who I follow on Insta Problem is, aside from the difference in opinion/perception on Plushy, I enjoy the rest of their posts. The answer is, obviously, to ignore that one point of difference, but I find it so hard. How do you guys do it? Maybe I'm projecting too much? I understand differences of opinion and all that, but when you read ten posts/stories in a row about how awful Plushy is, it makes me wonder about myself...like am I missing something? If Plushy is awful, am I not awful as well for not just enjoying his skating, but thinking he's a good person, with his heart in the right place? These questions bother me.

I think the great Russian people appreciate Evgeny Plusenko very much. He knows what he did for his country. Instead, his fans and anti-fans dramatize everything. Fortunately, there aren't many ... That's fine! I get what you mean it's best to see things for yourself rather than depend on second hand accounts.

I'm a bit annoyed with myself as I still haven't watched the show yet! I got distracted this morning (I had it off from work), so now I'll hand to wait.

However, I have been looking around the various boards including the Russian one (FSO), I've mentioned it before, they have a "Personalities" section to talk about skaters rather than Fan Fests so the comments aren't always positive, but the reception to Plushy's appearance at Mishin's show is a fun read!

When I saw Mishin holding Plushy's hand that close and talking so passionately, tears rolled down my cheeks unconsciously; When his students surrounded him and knelt down on the ice, only Plushy lowered his head. What should I say? The outpourings of his heartfelt affection and respect for Mishin deeply touched my heart. Ohhh, I'm so glad I wasn't the only one moved to tears. I literally went through all the motions watching this show, from laughing out loud (Sasha Samarin ) to crying (Mishin thanking his students ). My boyfriend thought I was watching an Oscar-worthy movie.

Unfortunately, I was rather unsuccessful in recording the Channel 78 stream this evening. It worked fine for the first 20 minutes, and then the stream just died on me. I couldn't even get it back for at least half an hour, and when it finally reconnected, everything was really grainy and the stream kept freezing. I've recorded some performances, but I'd rather wait if the show appears in some archives, though if nothing comes up, I'd be happy to share my bad quality recordings with you. At least I caught the group number of Team Mishin featuring Plushy.

Looking at photos from the show and having watch it, Plushy was very emotional. The most emotional I've ever seen him! I did read that one of the things he said was that he owed everything to Mishin. And that Mishin said that everything fell into place when Plushy came out. (At least that's what Google Translate translated from the FSO board).

Also someone somewhere (can't remember if it was FSO or Insta) that Plushy was the only skater they'd seen who could overpower the Je Suis Malade music - and while that's probably influenced by my fan bias that's how I feel too. Whenever that music plays even if it's a different version (Plushy's version had a man singing while most of the ones I've seen have a woman), I see Plushy at the 2010 Olympics Exhibition, showing everyone how he's not just some mechanical jumping machine, but a true artist.

Ahem...right I must be off, I'm at work!
