there's still 2 stages left only 4 can qualify so neither Lazheev nor Shesternev have qualified officially they both had bad 1st stage performances but medalled in 2nd stage, Roman and Erkohov are pretty much locked tho.

Sadly, I don't think Tema Lezheev will make the cut this time. Lazukin and Golubev are out of the race as well. Anisimov has excellent chances (wouldn't it be lovely to have the Moskvich triplet at senior nats?), as does Dikidzhi. It all depends on the fields at the last two stages of course. The Daniil Samsonov situation is also unclear. If he withdraws from his second GP event as well, will he still get the bye to nationals? Will he even be ready to compete in December?

Hmm, it's really hard to say when the fields at the last two stages aren't known. Anisimov will overtake him almost certainly, a sixth place will be enough for him. Dikidzhi would need another fourth place to have the same total score as Lezheev. I'm not sure what the decider would be in that case. And of course a surprise Russian man we haven't seen at CoR this season yet could do really well in the last two stages and score more than Tema. But tbh noone who fits that description comes to my mind at the moment.

Early days yet but wondering if Matvei would have found it easier switching to someone like Sokolovskaya or Rukavicin than Mishin. I think the Prof's technique/approach is drastically different from what he's used to.
Kolyada's jumps were already kind of Mishin-like (good axis, height and tight rotation) before he moved, so I don't think Mishin had to touch his basic technique much, just work on improving his consistency.
Kondratiuk on the other hand came from the same coach as Vetlugin (Sapronova), and his jumps still look a bit loose/wrappy at times, not like Samarin, so I think that tendency was there from before he moved to Sokolovskaya. But he's now one of the most consistent Russian men, so I guess they figured out how to make stuff work even without textbook technique.

Argh, sad for Yablokov, but glad to see Savosin back in the mix. I liked him in juniors, then he had sort of a rough transition into seniors, now it seems he is doing better. To think of it, same for Erokhov… maybe two years from now Mozalev will, like, totally amaze us

There is a reason why Kolyada's technique is Mishin-like, as Mishin had consulted Kolyada way back in Kolyada's teens (and it also happens to be the type of technique Chebotareva teaches). But Kolyada is just gifted that way (although he in fact does have a persistent bug with axis which Mishin is trying to fix). Liza is also gifted. Otherwise, I have trouble thinking of Mishin's student from recent years who has beautiful textbook jumps. Semenko and Lutfullin manage without. So I don't think he's only capable of teaching one technique to every student regardless of whether they are suited to it. Plushenko had a prerotated lutz after all. I guess we'll see.

Ilya is such a gem! He made good on his promise too, you could see him in the background clapping and nodding approvingly whenever Erokhov landed a jump.

On another note, I just bought my tickets to the Austrian Challenger. Can't wait to see my favourite guys from St. Petersburg! Watching Zhenya Semenenko live, skating his Master and Margarita FS is like a dream come true for me.
I also mentioned to my boyfriend that a city trip to Warsaw would be nice in mid November, but he didn't fall for it, even though I told him Moskvich's finest would be there.

Yeah, I didn’t even bring up with my husband how it just occurred to me that Tallinn in January is absolutely fabulous.

Apparently he tried to train through pain and got injured on top of his Osgood-Schlatter. I hope he is allowed to get healthy and not pushed into something he isn't ready for. He still has time, he's only 16 after all.
