Russian Nationals, Jan. 4-7, 2008

Vera Bazarova is too young to go to Euros or Worlds. Ksenia Krasilnikova is old enough, but K/B are too far back to threaten the top two teams.

......With a LOT of inconsistent skaters in between them. He didn't have that bad a chance.

I wouldn't call Lutai inconsistent though...

Anyway, Ladies LP is now on... I will maybe post some comments from the 2nd group and on...

I just read that little Elizaveta Tuktamysheva landed all her jumps including 3lutz and 2 3-2 combos.
That's impressive for such a young girl.

 Mr. Mishin

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva is just 10 years old. She landed a 3Z, but stepped out of it. If she can weather the puberty bug, the Russians have a formidable talent in the wings.

2nd group time!!

5. Alexandra Ievleva (7th after SP)
Let's see if she can climb up...

3t-2t
3l (a little underrotated)
3z 2footed
camel to sitspin and to Y spin
3s step out
camel with catch-foot variation
layback to awkward bielmann
spiral sequence not so pretty
3l
3s-2t (step out)
2a a little lean
combo spin with a Y and a catch foot again
circ steps difficult, but a little slow
sudden end of program

Some Arabian like music, I think she will be 1st for now...

129,61 total for Ievleva (high components marks). She is the one to beat right now...

6. Dinara VASFIEVA (9th after SP)
Arabic music again?!?
3f
3z fall
2s (yikes) to 2ax step out
a popped jump
Disastrous so far
combo spin
tries to sell the choreo, but not so well
Y spiral, back spiral
3t
3s, another fall
sloooooooooow camel
2ax , a 3rd fall
she's tired
again sloooooow camel
end to a classic Grishuk-Platov arabic pose

Disaster. Sorry

Last place for Vasfieva

7. Lilia BIKTAGIROVA (10th after SP)
red-black outfit, ponytail, spanishy music
2ax
3z forward landing
3f 2footed and step out
2ax right to another 2ax
catchfoot spin
3z hand down
3t-2t-2l good
3t again forward landing
slow camel
she is generally a little slow I think
WebTV disconnected.
I'll probably be back for next skater...
