2022 Olympics: Men's Short Program

Definitely not! This is the problem with the PCS scoring. I mean, give Yuma all the points in the world for skating skills, but his performance ability is at a way lower level. There's no way that he should be getting in the nines for that criterion.
I don't know. I enjoy his skating far more than Chen's. Yet Chen's PCS has been through the roof compared to others. It is what it is at this point. That's what we've been taught by FS fandom. :ROFLMAO:

I get the sense the Brian Orser was very happy for his students Jason and Junhwan,
and not really invested in Yuzuru anymore, probably due to Yuzuru ghosting him for a couple years
I think it might be because Yuzuru insisted on doing the 4Axel at the Olympics?
Orser probably wasn't happy that he is going for something he can't even do in practice. Who in the right mind would even consider attempting this jumps unless you already know you are not going to beat Nathan Chen so might as well go for something big, just the hell of it. He could have worked on his quad lutz instead.. he has landed them before....

Keegan is tough... the placement doesn't reflect his skate but the score does? He was just a little sloppy in the st sq which would then affect his PCS... idk don't listen to me I'm ridiculously sleep deprived. Let's all go take a nap!
leaving the sloppy step seq which was penalized (level 2 and low goe) the rest was stellar and not really rewarded... His spins for instance got much lower levels than most and not that great GOE... having seen most of these men spin live... Keegan is in a world of his own in that department...

I believe some judges just don't like the "in your face contemporary powerful style" a bit like some made Elvis pay for his own style.

Well that too, but seriously have they even seen each other in the flash in 2021?

LOL. But seriously, I feel like people get way too carried away with making conspiracy theories about their relationship... dude is on his 3rd olympics with most of his achievements under his belt earlier on in his career. They can be apart from each other for the most part at this point tbh.

Anyways, Orser stays winning at the olympics one way or another, for the 4th in a row.

Nathan looks so much more composed and confident now compared to 4 years ago.
People keep forgetting he was just a teenage at 18 four years ago it's just that that here in the states we made him out to be the overwhelming favorite when he wasn't. No one knew about the health of Hanyu but he was always going to be the favorite if he was on his game and he was and won his 2nd gold medal.

Well I mean Jun was well away from Brian these past 2 years just like Yuzu, but there was the infamous quote of " 2 times Olympic Champions, what could I teach him anymore" thingy.

Imagine if Nathan from 2018 could see this!

I was so sad for him then! But now here he is with his quads AND artistry and it's all amazing!
Don't forget that Nathan came back and won the fp in 2018, redeeming his Olympic experience, despite the amazing 6 quad fp not giving him a podium spot. Plus, he has a 2018 team bronze.

BTW, Nathan has always been artistic. He hears, understands and interprets the music, on top of his blazing technical talent. Some people don't like giving Nathan credit for the fact that he's always combined superb artistry with superior athleticism. 💫

I personally would have an issue with a skater coming back from a major injury yet trying that jump which may cause even more harm... at some point, I would understand why a mentor feeling his caring advice not being followed, one that can be very dangerous for the health of the athlete, may want to step back a bit.

I don’t believe Yuzuru Hanyu does anything just for the Hell of it but ok..........

Great event.

So sad for the Goat Yuzu :/ He’s my all time hero and I’m supersad for him but, He has nothing to prove so it’s ok, hope he bounces back in the free. (Don’t go for 4A :/ )

Team Japan is my fav when it comes to men. Shoma and Yuma were steller. Amazing performances. I agree with Shoma’s score tho since he lost the levels in TE, not here. Reduction from the GOE applied to combo also it was not that that big problem, program was solid. He might get his 2nd medal in Olys

Yuma Yuma Yuma, just amazing, his SS and fluidity of the jumps mesmerize me a lot. He might be OSM and possible OGM in the other oly. Love him.

Solid from Nathan, tho his skating never gets my attention as much as Team Japan, but he is great.

Jason you have the best SS here, dont look at the judges ...

BUT ! PCS is a big joke sometimes. Nathan having highest PCS, more than Jason and Japanese is a bit joke, dont get me wrong, I love Nathan and he deserves what he gets but, PCS is smth different, that Sinnerman program and Shoma’s skating was worse than Nathan in terms of PCS ?? No way. I hope this PCS thing will change but anyways, it was a great event.

It's funny, because it's true.

Haven't followed the situation properly, but wondering where Ghislain is.
