I watch tennis and had no issue with Andreeva competing in fact she's bringing a lot of excitement to women's tennis with such a dominant win over a top 10 player. I really don't think having Petrosian at a world championship and winning will bring animosity I think in Boston they will applaud and cheer for her as loud as anyone after watching her. I don't understand it, but it will soon be three world championships without Russians and expect it to be many more.

The Russian championships almost had no more room for sponsors on the boards, but I watched an international event on the weekend and they were struggling for sponsors (presumably because there were no Japanese skaters).

If you think Russia/Belorussia will be in Olympics in 2024, I think you will be disappointed. Maybe in 2028. Maybe never, which isn't such a bad thing imo, b/c Olympics sucks and probably won't be around for much longer since nobody wants to host them. World Championships/GP series is what I am more interested in anyway, because I can attend those and see skaters in person.
I'm talking 2026. I think they could politically argue that one spot could be given to each country under neutral conditions if they play their cards correctly.
Anyway I hope Samodelkina can get that transfer hopefully it could be a mega battle her and Sakamoto in 2026.

Nah, she wont come this close to the podium, but she can shoot for the top 10 for sure, and I am here for it. I am also packing German, French, Czech, Hungarian, Azeri, Polish, Georgian and Armenian flags

She has the 3A in training and I thought I had seen a video of her quad months ago. Samodelkina is so tall now but it's a great sign if she can jump a 3A. Add in a quad and she will have a 10 point possibly 15 point base value advantage in the free skate over Sakamoto who will be the biggest rival.

Really? Russia or neutral Russian athletes in 2026? It will be one spot I imagine. Petrosian will likely be the best chance.

Neutral probably but it doesnt matter, everyone will know what that means. So whats even the point?
It will 100% be Petrosian unless Akateva is back in form. Bazyluk and Dvoeglazova wont be old enough. Dvoeglazova has an unlucky birthday unfortunately, otherwise she could be the girl.

I dont think I see Valieva in 2026 without a 3A when theres Muravieva (not that I see Muravieva beating Petrosian either). And only Petrosian can compete with primed Akateva.
She jumped the 4T in warm up there's no reason why she can't restore it in competition. If there was an Olympic appearance at stake, her preparation would be completely different. 1.5 weeks before the Moscow stage she was doing modelling shoots, flew to a region near Kazan for a promotion. It's a terrible preparation, but still did enough to get gold and beat Muraviova.
Still, Muraviova seems to have that body type that will stay light so maybe she will maintain the 3A and develop more consistency. I think she's improving and will be top 3 next season.

Of course if Valieva went psycho on her training like in her prime she could do it, the point is I dont think she will. I dont think anyone does. She can still reasonably get a consistent 4T with some more work but thats not enough to beat Petrosian or Akateva.

Valieva last season scored 170 landing her 4T twice and this was a legitimate 170 it was simply that good.
Akatieva is likely finished so it's just Petrosian she has to fight.

I have seen again and again this year the women with ultra c (3A, 4T) losing to women without, based on edges, UR and PCSs. You really need to watch international skating. No Russian has PCS that would satisfy tech panel and judges that do not have Russian officials on it. I dunno how to explain it in terms that people who only watch Russian competitions and compare the scores would understand. I just now watched Shiryaeva land combos the Canadian women can only dream of, and receive 4th place with 3 edge calls and PCSs in the 4th, when girls who couldn't stay on their feet won with doubles and pops. Shiryaeva jumped solid 3Lz3T and 3Lzeu3S without a single fall in short or free, and you know who beat her to the 3rd place? A girl who could be sent to Junior competitions because she doesn't have a 3Lz and who fell on her only triple-triple combo AND who was behind Shiryaeva in the short. And the winner was? The girl they sent to Junior worlds, because they don't think she can scrape together technical min for seniors. Oh, and the second place went to Schizas who didn't show anything at all, including missing one combo outright. I doubt that one woman who shows up whenever is going to get a different treatment from Japanese technical panel and judges. Look at how Japanese want to skate: great glide and barely any choreo except a couple of hand movements here and there. Russians are exactly the opposite. Well, that's 4 to 6 in PCS, and they are out.
9/10 top spots in the World in women are already pretty much spoken for: 3 Japanese, 3 Korean, 2 Belgian and 1 USA.
