I remember Joanna, and her prominent tattoos—not quite as visible in this costume—from last year.

Good luck, Sofia! She was there last year, too. Usually has such fun, youthful music and enthusiasm.

She got sick halfway through last year and had to wd. She's been sick and injured for it seems like forever, though she was able to repeat as Philippines champion. She's also very grateful for everything. She sent me some signed photos

She made it into the free. That's good.

Joanna gets bonus points for being one of the few skaters to do an illusion exit well from her layback spin. She landed everything, but all three jumping passes were a little hooked tonight.

Seoyeong is so good when she skates well! I suspect she might have scored a little higher had she been skating in the next group, or maybe I'm feeling nicer than the judges are today, but that was a fantastic skate!

She carries herself like she lives in a music box. Very soothing to watch her skate.

Great skate by Seoyeong! She does tend to drop out a bit before jumps but she’s still so young, plenty of time to work on that and clean performances like this should only give her more confidence in her ability and artistry.

Oh no, a nightmare skate for Vlada. She's only 16, so hopefully she can come back strong next year, but three invalid elements in the short is so tough . It's especially a shame because she is a very strong spinner, and I'm sure she rarely makes that mistake in practice.
