And just when I had thought that since the Paris Olympics are over I wouldn't be thinking about RG for at least 4 months, here we are with a RG warhorse... To be fair RG and FS share a LOT of warhorses but (sigh)

Poor Anastasia, I think this could be a great program for her moving forward but her timing seemed off right from the start, and she had a really rough jump day.

I checked who her choreographer is and turns out, you get a typically Russian program when you get a Daniil G program! Who would've thunk!

My strategy for Skate Picks is 1. The Obvious (Mao in 1st. Duh.) and 2. Murphy's Law. Is there a skater I desperately want to succeed? Figure that my love will curse them, rank them lower than I want them to place...

Somehow, when it comes to getting numbers right, that method nearly always works.

Problem is, most of the Russian girls' dresses are rather undistinguished, have been for years (there have been a few good ones, but few from the Tut group, they tend to the fussy and over-done detail piled on detail) and this follows the 'This Is Ye Bog-Standard Russianish Skating Dress'.

Poor girl, that wasn't the skate she wanted.

The snarky creature that lives in a cage in my brain that it's not allowed to emerge from because it will make me say mean things calls those dresses "airbrushian."

(You know, because they all look similar, and they've all got airbrushing for weeks, and they're from - never mind.)
