2025 South Korean Figure Skating Championships

I don't know, she's trying to find out what works best for her?
I doubt anyone can find out at such a young age, without taking the time to adapt first to the life changes. Moving to another city/country as a teenager is already rough.... I'd suggest she postpones the idea of getting coached abroad until she's much older or that if she really wants to find "her mentor" as she knows her situation in Korea is already not what she needs at this point, that she sticks to her new environment for at least one year. It's something frequent in my field and with younger musicians, the environment becomes a huge factor in the adaptation.. It's not always due to the coaching staff but just being away from friends/family/habits... it's so difficult at such a young age. Transitions are easier later on, in early adult life (18-20). Successful transitions are always the ones that were done over a longer term of course :) You cannot say, I stayed with coach X for 3 months and it was a success :) However, we often hear, I changed coaches, the first year was so difficult but now, I am so happy... It takes time :)

PS my ankle is also finally much better.. It was working fine but the pain stayed a bit until recently. So I guess Cha and I are ankle buddies ;) I had a two week break during the holidays... so we will see how it gets now that I started training again... but yesterday I ran for 80 minutes and no issue there.

C. Kim and Jia Shin rivalry is interesting. The Korean federation clearly loves Jia Shin more. I prefer Chaeyon. Is Jia still coached by Orser camp?
She really is improving as the season continues. Could she finally win Junior Worlds after three straight silver medals?
Jia Shin conforms with the Korean style in her skating, whereas Chaeyeon Kim is more of an individual rather than a Yuna Kim clone.

I would be surprised if Jia won Junior Worlds, unless Mao Shimada is absent. Jia can beat Mao in the SP, and has done so in the past. However, she cannot match Mao's technical content in the free. She needs a 3A and a quad to be able to beat Mao there, unless Mao has an uncharacteristically poor skate. Even with a fall, downgrade and multiple underotations from Mao at the Youth Olympics, Jia was still fractions of a point behind her in the free. It's possible for Jia to win if she goes completely clean and Mao falls and makes other errors, but it is unlikely because Mao is usually very consistent.

@CoyoteChris FS starting order is in 4 groups, 5/6/6/6
Sorry everyone. I have to guess at these groups when making lists. It is very frustrating that a entry/results table is not used. Don’t tell me it is posted on KSU because I can’t read it even if I could access the site, which I cannot.

What do y'all think of the KBS camera angles? During Jia's skate, they mostly look down on the skater.....during the replay, they mostly look out, which is the usual view during TV broadcasts. For me, looking down, during a jump, makes seeing where the skate blade hits the ice easier, but over all I like looking out best, with multiple cameras. Maybe its just personal preference.

Hey dearest friend ! I just want to say that you are always so helpful. Do not ever worry if 1) you miss something 2) you cannot read in a foreign language 3) something is not available 4) something is available but you didn't see it 5) you are not perfect

The value of everything you do is not necessarily in having everything flawlessly laid out for every single forum user out there (some of which may not even have the same expectations.

The value of everything you do is in the kindest intent and enormous work you put out there. Do not stress over this. Do not feel like you need to make excuses. Do not ever feel badly about the simple fact that all along, you were only trying to help, and that, you have certainly shown times and times over (being helpful for us skating fans).

Don't worry, it is not
Maybe I am too old....once upon a time, I would go to US nats and there would be starting orders for that day's events handed out, along with SP scores if applicable...then, the flyers ended up on the Friends of Figure skating table....then, a few flyers would appear and we were encouraged if we cared to take a pic of the flyer....then, I think, we were told to go to the USFS app....there were various work arounds of course...we would get up early and use the hotel guest computer to print out the scores and start orders...you could also , in the nats program, write down scores and orders in the spiral bound programs....and if you knew the right people, you could get a copy of the minute by minute daily sheet . I am a paper guy. Maybe I am a dinasour. But I like to take notes and write down scores and see things like seasons best. And my old fingers dont like phones....wonder what ever happened to Mirai Nagasu?

Senior men final results, cc @skatingkor

WC: Junhwan Sihyeong
JWC: Minkyu Habin *Hyungyeom
*may change due to 4CC assignment, first alternate Jaekeun
I didn't watch and the twitter thing is no longer working BUT... i have to say that I am heart broken for Hyungyeom. I prefer him to Sihyeong by a landslide. I thought he was nice to watch at Montreal worlds. It's great he still has the option to go to JWC but yeah... Will watch the skates if they magically appear later. Enjoying my last night of "I don't have anything planned tomorrow" before going back to 52 hour weeks of work on Monday.
