Thanks for that, mikeko666! Enjoyed watching Kaho and Yuto (had to laugh when she lifted him).

I saw the news yesterday and I was shocked and saddened too 😭

I wonder if Nao Kida would consider going back to ice dance? She could try partnering with Atsuhiko.
As for Sara... always tougher for the women to find a new partner ey :( I hope some talented junior boys will consider switching to ice dance to partner with her.

Sae Shimizu and Lucas Tsuyoshi Honda split.

Sae will compete in singles next season while Lucas will continue in pairs.
I hope he'll find a new partner soon. Bruno was in Japan for WTT, so I assume there was a tryout before or after the competitions.

Interesting... I immediately look at the list of current trainees of Kinoshita Academy to see if there's any girl who can be Lucas' potential new partner. Maybe Haruna Murakami who is 17 years old this July and will be senior eligible is returning to pairs....?

ooooh that would be so interesting. She is talented and already has experience in pairs!

Her birthday is on 30 July though, so she won't turn 17 before the cutoff and won't be senior eligible next season just yet.

Still I think it's a great idea for her to pair up with Lucas. He's currently 22 and his birthday is in September, so they actually still have two more seasons eligible in juniors - thanks to ISU raising the junior men pairs' age limit to 23 😅

If they do pair up, I hope they can do 3S-3T as their SBS jump - Haruna's 3S-3T is just too glorious it'd be such a shame not to see it again ✨

Oooh, thanks for the correction! But yes, I think Haruna's experience in pairs is something to think about even if she's not senior eligible yet.

On the 3S3T - if Lucas and Haruna ends up pairing up, neither of them have edge issues on the lutz (Sae has some ! calls on her lutz) so I can see their SBS solo jump being 3Lz and them saving the 3S for the combo, either 3S3T2A or 3S2A2A.

I believe Lucas has only one season left in junior because he'll turn 23 next season (2025-2026). Haruna won't be able to move to senior until 2026-2027 season, so it sounds ideal if she and Lucas team up.

I just double checked and you're right! I got confused since with the minimum senior age you have to be 17 before July 1, I thought it'd be the same with maximum junior age 😅 So for clarification, junior pairs men's maximum age is 22 before July 1 (turning 23 after July 1).

Still good for them to be able to do 1 last junior season, I really hope to see this pairing happening (and working!) 🤞

Not Koshiro going from senior Men GP medallist to ice dancer in one season 😭
I'm shocked but also excited to see what they come up with! I don't normally follow ice dance, but I will tune in for these two

If anything that's probably the reason he makes the move: he's already a medalist at Japan Nationals and the senior GP series, it's not a small deal and probably the decider to leave his singles career behind with no regrets.

I'm just a bit surprised he decided to do this before, and not after the Olympic season. Yes, on paper his chances of making the Olympic team were not huge, but in the chaos of the current Japanese Men field, anything can happen 😂

However, I also know that he's been struggling with an ankle injury for a while and maybe that made jump training difficult. He seems to be a very grounded and intelligent guy, so I trust he made the best decision for himself. I will just miss him in the men singles field, that's all 🥹
